Fans of Beyond the Gates love their show and defend it passionately when people compare it to other big soaps currently watched. Days of our Lives, The Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless. But which ranks the highest, and how do we know? Let's dive in and find out.

According to an article written for Daytime Confidential, the Soap Opera Network divulged key demo ratings, and there has been a bit of a shake-up in viewing habits.

CBS’s new daytime drama, Beyond the Gates, has climbed into third place and edged out old faithful General Hospital for that. Now, in a week where BTG didn't have the most compelling storylines nor any real huge cliffhangers, seeing this bodes well for the new creation, which has been renewed for a second season, and filming is very much underway. The two demos that were graded here were women aged 25 to 54 and also women aged 28 to 49, and both times, BTG was ahead of General Hospital, and the longest-running daytime drama hit an all-time low despite some pretty big stories in the midst.

So, who is number one? The bragging rights go to…The Young and the Restless continued its run as the number one soap. Y&R showed growth week to week but also a slight year-to-year downtrend. Staying steady in its number two spot was The Bold and the Beautiful.

What's happening on Beyond the Gates

It’s holiday week, and we are rushing towards Thanksgiving. Tomas (Alex Alegria) is going to help Kat (Colby Muhammed) escape her family responsibilities and feuds by taking her to a lovely B&B on the Chesapeake Bay. Ted (Keith D. Robinson) is going to make Leslie's (trisha mann-Grant) holiday by joining her and Eva (Ambyr Michelle) at Orphey Genes, and the Duprees are going to do Thanksgiving at the Fairmont Crest Country Club, with possibly Izaiah (David Lami Friebe) joining them so he doesn't spend it alone. But the surprise is whether Marcel (Darryl W. handy) is actually interested in Leslie, or if he's baiting her so he can be the one to bring her down and leave the force on a high note by closing a high-profile case. Give the guy some credit, but I don’t think it’ll be that easy. But be my guest and try!

You can watch Beyond the Gates weekdays on CBS or stream live or on-demand on Paramount Plus.
