Silver screen veteran Gloria Stuart will make a special New Year's Eve guest appearance on General Hospital.
The 91-year-old Stuart might be best known to viewers for her Oscar-nominated role as the elder Rose in Titanic.On General Hospital, Stuart will play Catherine, the wife of a legendary Port Charles mobster. Stuart's character will tell Carly and Ric (played by Tamara Braun and Rick Hearst) tales of her experiences in 1920s Port Charles.
The episode will feature scenes from both the present day as well as the past. GH costume designer Lori Robinson scoured local clothing shops for authentic 1920s outfits. Robinson didn't merely stop at the pants, blouses and shirts - she also found accessories such as pocketwatches, shoes and even makeup.
During the flashback scenes, which were filmed in black-and-white, present-day GH stars will portray their 1920s counterparts. The episode will also feature in excess of two dozen extras.
The special episode will air on December 31.
