General Hospital and The Bold and the Beautiful hunk Antonio Sabato Jr. will be putting on his boogie shoes for season 19 of Dancing With the Stars.
Dancing With the Stars looks to be continuing its tradition of setting soap stars loose on the dance floor. E! Online is reporting that Antonio Sabato Jr. (ex-Jagger Cates, GH; ex-Dante Damiano, B&B) will be busting a move as a cast member on the reality competition's upcoming season.
The full cast will be announced on Good Morning America on Thursday, September 4, 2014, so Sabato's role in the show won't be official until then, but E!'s sources say Sabato has made the cut.
Sabato played Jagger Cates on GH from 1992 to 1994 and in the fall of 1995. From 2005 to 2006, he took on the role of Dante Damiano on B&B. He returned to Port Charles in the short-lived spinoff General Hospital: Night Shift in 2008. During his time on Night Shift, the former police officer turned FBI agent fought for custody of his son, who, with the help of Dr. Robin Scorpio, was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome.

Recently, Sabato has guested on several television shows including Castle, The League, and Baby Daddy. He is also set to star in an upcoming TV movie titled All I Want for Christmas alongside Shannen Doherty.
If Sabato does join Dancing With the Stars' 19th season as rumored, he has quite a soap star legacy to follow. Fellow General Hospital actor Kelly Monaco placed first in the show's inaugural season and finished in the top three in the All-Star season, which brought back some of the competition's most popular performers. In season 13, J.R. Martinez (ex-Brot Monroe, All My Children) took home the first place Mirror Ball Trophy.
Other soap stars who have competed on the program include Lisa Rinna (ex-Billie Reed, Days of our Lives) in season 2, Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan Lavery, AMC) in season 5, Susan Lucci (ex-Erica Kane, AMC) in season 7, Aiden Turner (ex-Aidan Devane, AMC) in season 10, and Ingo Rademacher (ex-Jasper Jacks, GH) in season 16.
Season 19 of Dancing With the Stars will premiere on Monday, September 15, 2014, at 8PM ET/7PM CT on ABC.
UPDATE:ABC has confirmed that Sabato, Jr., will be among the stars dancing on the new season of DWTS. He'll be joined for another soap alum, Jonathan Bennett, who briefly played Adam Chandler, Jr. on All My Children from 2001 to 2002.
