Holly Gagnier takes over the role of GH's Jennifer Smith

One Life to Live and Days of our Lives vet Holly Gagnier has joined General Hospital in the role of Jennifer Smith.

You don't have to rub your eyes because it truly was soap opera veteran Holly Gagnier (ex-Cassie Reynolds, One Life to Live; ex-Ivy Jannings, Days of our Lives) in the role of General Hospital's Jennifer Smith today.

The Los Angeles native has taken over the role previously played by Lisa Marie, Roseanne Arnold, and Sally Struthers.

"I really had probably the most fun I've ever had on a soap," she told Soap Opera Digest. "Tony [Geary, Luke] and Genie [Francis, Laura] could not have been more loving, supportive, more encouraging for me to just go the distance with."

As fans may recall, Jennifer has been in love with Luke for many years and even went so far as to once kidnap him and Laura in an attempt to get Luke to marry her. At this time, there's no word on how long Gagnier and her alter ego will be sticking around in Port Charles.
