Does Dex's disappearance spell the end of General Hospital's Jex -- or the beginning of Jason?

Josslyn Jacks is heartbroken over Dex's vanishing act on General Hospital, but she might have reason to hold on to hope.

Poor Josslyn Jacks is beside herself as she deals with the fact that Sonny "disappeared" her boyfriend, who left her with nothing but a goodbye note.

Thankfully, this time, "disappearing" means just that. Sonny didn't kill Dex, despite learning Michael planted the man in his organization to gather evidence and bring him down. He just made sure Dex left town before setting him up with a new identity. Knowing Dex isn't dead isn't good enough for Josslyn -- she wants him with her.

While Josslyn should have known that Dex continuing to work for Sonny would never end well, she put it all in the back of her mind and now hates her former stepfather more than ever. But is this it? Is this the end of "Jex," or will Dex somehow find a way to return to Port Charles without risking Sonny's ire and trigger finger (or at least the trigger finger of one of his enforcers)?

Since there's been no word that Evan Hofer has left GH, it's a pretty good bet that he'll be back and that everything will be right in Josslyn's world again (until the next mob shootout). In fact, Hofer recently spoke of fleshing out Dex's backstory during an interview with Soap Opera Digest -- namely who his father might be.

With Adam Harrington taking over the role of John "Jagger" Cates, and Steve Burton returning as Jason Morgan, there's been some speculation as to whether one of these men is Dex's dad.

"I've met [Adam Harrington, John] in passing, and he's very kind, and I haven't had any scenes with Steve [Burton, Jason], but I have hugged him at work," Hofer said. "There are too many historical intricacies that I don't understand to say [which fictional dad I'd prefer], but I just know whatever the writers decide in whatever cool way sounds good to me."

Speaking of Jason, he could be the one to help bring Dex back home. We know we'll see Stone Cold again on March 4. Could Dex run into Sonny's all-original enforcer during his on-the-run phase, or will Jason purposely seek Dex out? After all, we have no idea where Jason has been the last two years, and he might have had his eye on Sonny and Port Charles this entire time. Tune in on March 4 to find out.
