Dominic Zamprogna brings Dante Falconeri back to GH

Dominic Zamprogna is back at work on General Hospital. The two-time Daytime Emmy nominee will reprise his role as Dante Falconeri, the role he originated on the ABC soap back in 2009.

If you are one of the General Hospital fans who've wondered why Dante Falconeri didn't return to Port Charles when his wife, Lulu, was attacked, you might soon be getting some answers. Fan favorite Dominic Zamprogna is back to reprise his Emmy-nominated role on General Hospital.

Speculation began when Zamprogna posted a photo of himself on Twitter in a very empty dressing room. The image had no caption. That left fans to run amok with speculation, many asking the actor if he was back at GH, but the actor didn't reply. Eventually, past and present GH costars weighed in, saying that the dressing room looked very familiar to them.

"Wait...what?" asked Marc Anthony Samuel (Felix Dubois). Later, Erik Valdez (ex-Trey Mitchell), offered, "I recognize that dressing room..." Zamprogna's on-screen dad asked the actor, "Why are you so scared?" Zamprogna, in an attempt to explain his expression in his selfie, replied, "The noises coming from your room next door..."

Though ABC has yet to comment, Soap Central has confirmed that Zamprogna is returning to the role he vacated last year after a nine-year-run. If you're hoping for a long-term stay, that doesn't appear to be the case -- at least not at this time. Zamprogna will, however, be sticking around longer than his one-day guest appearance in November.

In case you are wondering, the dressing room Zamprogna is using is not the same one he had during his previous run on GH. That dressing room has been reassigned to Josh Swickard (Chase).

Zamprogna joined the cast of GH in 2009 and played the role of Dante until the spring of 2018, when he decided not to continue with the ABC soap opera. The writers sent Dante on an important mission out of town, leaving the door open for a future return.

Expect to see Zamprogna on-screen sometime in late March.
