Filmmaker Zack Snyder looks back at Henry Cavill's Superman form yet again on Instagram
The Justice League director has now used his newly established Instagram to share several posts looking back on the DCEU era with Henry Cavill as Superman. What started out as a Henry Cavill is Superman post set the Internet ablaze with rumors and is now seen as the reminiscing that it is.
The recent post features a snap that appears to be a still from the 2013 Man of Steel. Henry Cavill looks on as Superman in true dark and grainy Snyder aesthetic, with the picture captioned:
"Henry in his natural setting"
As these posts do, it sparked some conspiracy theories about Henry Cavill's supposed return to the DC Universe as Superman. Nevertheless, a majority of fans interpreted the post as an appreciation of the era rather than dismissing the current David Corenswet as the Superman era.
On that note, here's what 2026 is set to look like for the DC Universe.
The DC Universe slate for 2026

After the 2024 revamp of the DC Studios, 2025 turned out to be a big year for the studio, with David Corenswet's Superman receiving critical acclaim. Additionally, Peacemaker Season 2 was also received very well by critics and fans alike, making the 2025 run of the DC Universe a success overall.
The DC Universe has big plans for 2026 as well, with not one, not two, but three multimedia releases on the horizon.
It was rumored that the 2026 run of the DC Universe was set to be jump-started with the Lanterns series starring Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler as John Stewart and Hal Jordan. However, recent reports claim that this is not the case anymore, and the release has been delayed.
Instead, Supergirl, starring Milly Alcock, set to have a theatrical release in June 2026, will be the first DC Universe project to be released in 2025. It will be followed by the Lanterns series. The third and final DC Universe project scheduled for a September 2026 release is a film titled Clayface. Scripted by Mike Flanagan, the film is described as a horror thriller and the origin story of the shapeshifting Batman villain played by Tom Rhys Harries.
The DC Universe has an exciting lineup for the coming years, so fans of the studio and even the Snyderverse fans will have a lot to look forward to.
