The Kid Laroi elaborated on his First Time Tour in an exclusive interview with JUNKEE on September 25, 2024 :

"I'm so excited to come back man. The past couple of years of my life I've been so busy travelling and working but going back and touching base honestly does a lot for me personally. It's always a great feeling. It's just being home. But tour-wise, this is 100 per cent going to be the best show we've ever done."

He also elaborated on juggling both rap music and pop music in his career, stating:

"I listen to so much music, I'm inspired by so much stuff. So just continuing to experiment and stay excited about music. Every album coming up, I want to be proud of it. If I'm not excited about it, I’m not going to put it out."

He continued:

"I have done things in the past where I've put a song on an album because someone wanted me to do it and I've severely regretted it. There’s no one way or the other, it’s just experimenting and trying to find what excites me."

The Kid Laroi released his studio album, The First Time, on November 10, 2023. The album charted at number 3 on the Australian album chart and at number 7 on the Kiwi album chart.
