Actress Tara Reid is back in the news following a disturbing incident captured on video that quickly went viral. The clip showed Reid appearing disoriented and confused. It was reported by TMZ in an exclusive report on Monday that the actress was allegedly drugged in a hotel outside of Chicago on Sunday morning. The news outlet reported that following the arrival of paramedics, she had to be rushed to a nearby hospital on a stretcher.
Tara Reid recounted her version of the event to TMZ. She explained that she ordered a drink and a cigarette at the bar, then went outside to smoke. Reid alleged that by the time she came back to finish her drink, it was already drugged, adding that after she took the drink, she blacked out and only remembered waking up at the hospital.
An eyewitness told the gossip blog that before the arrival of the paramedics, Reid was heard shouting:
“You don't know who I am. I am famous. I'm an actress.”
A representative of the actress told US Weekly that:
“Tara Reid is trying to file a police report after an incident in which she believes her drink was tampered with. She is cooperating fully with the investigation.”
Tara Reid is currently worth $ 500,000, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
More details on Tara Reid’s battle with substance abuse
In 2009, Tara Reid admitted to The Stuff magazine that she checked into rehab after battling with substance abuse.
“I didn't like the person I was. I was sad and conflicted. Some people get forced to be in rehab. I went there by myself. I put myself there. It was the greatest decision I ever made,” she shared.
She continued:
“The hardest thing was walking through the door for the first time - finally admitting that I had a problem. I had been in such denial.”
And added:
“Rehab saved my life. Before, I used to think about tomorrow, and I hated it. Now I can't wait because I am clean and sober, and I am excited.”
Tara Reid also spoke about her rehabilitation in a 2014 interview with In Touch.
“I didn’t like the person I was. I was sad and conflicted. I went there by myself. I put myself there. It was the greatest decision I ever made. Rehab saved my life.”
She also appreciated her fans for their support over the years:
“I think that a lot of fans have been much nicer. Sometimes I read what some of the quotes are from fans, and it makes me cry because it’s been so kind and nice.”
