Adam Schindler and Brian Netto's Don't Move is an American thriller film starring Finn Witrrock, Kelsey Asbille Chow and Moray Treadwell. The movie was released by Netflix on October 25, 2024 and has been written by David White and TJ Cimfel.
The story revolves around a woman named Iris (played by Kelsey Asbille) who has recently lost her son and is grieving his death. While trying to kill herself to get over the pain, she is encountered by a man named Richard (Finn Wittrock).
After talking to him, her mind changes, but she unknowingly gets caught in a trap that almost costs her life. Don't Move explores Iris' struggle as she tries to get rid of Richard, who eventually turns out to be a serial-killer.
Iris puts up a good fight, even after she was under the effect of a drug-induced paralysis. As she slowly regains her ability to move, the plot unravels and in a final face-off, she is able to kill Richard while reflecting on her urge to live again.
The distribution rights of Don't Move in the United Kingdom and Ireland had initially been acquired by Signature Entertainment in 2023. But earlier this year, Netflix bought the global distribution rights . Here's a look at the official synopsis of the thriller film:
"A seasoned killer injects a grieving woman with a paralytic agent. She must run, fight and hide before her body shuts down."

What happens at the end of Don't Move?
The movie begins with a grieving Iris who has recently lost her son Matteo in a tragic hiking accident. She pays a visit to the site of the incident and is just about to commit suicide by jumping off a cliff when a handsome man turns up. He introduces him as Richard and after talking to him, Iris changes her mind.
She goes back with him, talking, but in a while, Richard's intentions become clear. He ties up Iris and forcefully confines her to his car by injecting her with a paralytic agent. Unable to move on her own, Iris goes through a lot of struggle while trying to fight off Richard. She also gets help from a man named Bill and a police officer, both of whom die at the hands of Richard.
As the movie nears its ending, we see the two fighting each other on a boat. Iris is lucky enough to grab a knife and stabs Richard (who is now shown as Andrew) on his neck - he falls overboard. Iris then tries to shoot him with his gun, but misses and pierces the hull unintentionally.
She escapes from the sinking boat and somehow swims to safety. At the shore, Iris comes across a dying Richard (who managed to float to the jetty). She stands there and watches him during his final moments - contemplating that if it were not for his attacks, she would have never found out the will to live again.
The movie ends as we see Iris standing over Richard, thanking him, as he lies dying. It all comes a full-circle back to her as she realises the gift of life and finds an urge to keep going. Ironically, Richard (who tries to kills her) opens her eyes. Asbille has reportedly justified her character, saying:
"I believe there is a moment when Iris chooses to live, not just survive. That’s what resonated with me, fighting desperately to overcome something that has left you feeling paralyzed."
How does Richard lure Iris into his trap?
Richard is able to lure Iris not only by his appearance, but also by the way he talks in a convincing manner. Just as Iris is about to jump off the cliff, he appears at the spot and talks her out of it. He tells her about the story of his high school girlfriend Chloe, who was killed in a car accident.
Richard further adds how the whole incident left him in depression - a state of immobility, totally broken. But, he never lost hope and tells Iris that he wants her to do the same. Thus, by cooking stories and speaking in a convincing manner, Richard is able to grab Iris' attention - right before kidnapping and attempting to kill her.
How does Bill help Iris in Don't Move?
After Iris manages to escape from Richard (following a brief fight), she runs through the woods. But, the paralytic agent (which Richard injected in her blood) starts taking over and she gradually loses the ability to 'move'.
Dragging her body against the ground, Iris reaches the shore and floats downstream to an isolated piece of land. The property is owned by a man named Bill, who tries to communicate by looking at her blinking eyes.
He brings her back to his house and just when he is about to call 911 for help, Richard turns up. This time he introduces himself as Andrews and claims that he is looking for his wife. Bill senses suspicion and calls 911 anyway. But, Andrews intervenes, assaults Bill and kills him. Thus, Bill loses his life trying to protect Iris.
