Is The Brutalist a true story?
The Brutalist is loosely based on a true story. While the movie depicts Brody’s character as an architect, the real-life Laszlo Toth is a geologist.
Per Variety, Toth was of Hungarian-Australian descent. Although he was born in Hungary, Toth completed his academia in Australia.
He was renowned for his contribution to science and for infamously vandalizing Michelangelo’s Pieta in the year 1972.
