The horror franchise Smile is set to hit the theatres with its sequel Smile 2 on October 18, 2024 across the United States. With the recent release of its official trailer and halloween round the corner, Smile 2 has raised a lot of excitement among the fans as director Parker Finn stars Naomi Scott in this spooky spin off.
After the success of Smile (2022) in the global box office, there have been a lot of speculations related to the plot of the upcoming supernatural horror film Smile 2.

As seen in trailers, famous pop artist Skye (played by Naomi Scott) is haunted by a series of horrifying visions and disturbing incidents before going on a world tour. An unknown figure takes her under its spell and forces her to smile leading to a sinister development.
When will Smile 2 be released?
Parker Finn directed Smile 2 which will be released on October 18, 2024 in theatres across the United States by Paramount Pictures. According to reports, the Princpal Photography of the movie took place in early 2024 all across New York City in different locations. However, there is still no news for the release of Smile 2 on online streaming platforms.
What is the plot of Smile 2?
The official synopsis of Smile 2 reads,
"About to embark on a world tour, global pop sensation Skye Riley begins experiencing increasingly terrifying and inexplicable events. Overwhelmed by the escalating horrors and the pressures of fame, Skye is forced to face her past."
As the entity named Smile can appear in any avatar, this time we get to see a new protagonist Skye (a pop star) on screen as she tries to rid herself of the curse. The evil force has finally made a new target and as Skye tries to deal with her fame and the demon together, she goes through a series of disturbing incidents.
Following the release of the official trailer, the fans have received confirmation on the return of Kyle Gallner as Joel. But it is still not clear about how his part will look like in the movie. Joel will reportedly team up with the sequel's protagonist Skye to get rid of the sinister entity.
Who is in the cast of Smile 2?
The role of the new protaganost (a famous pop artist) form Smile 2 will be played by Naomi Scott as she is joined by her co-star Kyle Gallner (resuming his part as Joel). The character Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) will not be seen in the sequel, quite evident from what we see at the end of Smile (2022).
We will reportedly get to see a cameo by Drew Barrymore where she'll play herself in the movie. Lukas Gage has got the role of Lewis (a friend of Skye's) while Peter Jacobson will appear as Morris. Among others in the cast are:
