Oh, Hi! is a romantic comedy film directed by Sophie Brooks, who has also written the story with Molly Gordon.
They have also produced it with David Brooks, Dan Clifton, and Julie Waters. Its production banners include Cliffbrook Films, Watermark Media, and QWGmire. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was released in limited theatres on July 25, 2025, by Sony Pictures Classics. Here's the official synopsis as per IMDb:
"Iris and Isaac's first romantic weekend getaway goes awry in a most unexpected way."
Let's explore how the film ends and find out if Iris and Isaac end up together or not.
What is the plot of Oh, Hi!?
Oh, Hi! is about a couple, Iris (Molly Gordon) and Isaac (Logan Lerman). The two have been dating each other for four months. They decide to go on a weekend getaway at a farmhouse. That night, Isaac tells her that he is not looking for a relationship and that he's been sleeping with other women. Iris then decides to hold him as a hostage.
How does Oh, Hi! end?
Oh, Hi! reaches its climax, and Iris continues to handcuff Isaac. She uncuffs him in the morning and realizes that Isaac doesn't remember the past two days. Isaac tells her that the flour to make pancakes is inside her car. She gives him the key, and Isaac ends up escaping in her car. He had overheard Max and Iris making plans to wipe out his memory. Kenny and Max try to convince Iris to go after Isaac. But she says that she's ready to own up to her action.
Later, cops call Iris to inform her that her car has crashed into a tree. But nobody was found inside it. She runs into the forest and finds Isaac, who is unable to walk. The two apologize to each other for their actions. Iris apologizes for forcing him into a relationship, while Isaac feels sorry for lying to her. The film ends with Isaac being taken into an ambulance.
The ending doesn't give a clear answer, and it's unclear if Isaac and Iris will continue to be in a relationship. Director Sophie Brooks was asked whether the two would be together. Brooks said,
"I don't think so. I think that they probably are not meant to be, and that maybe in another moment, if this hadn't happened, they would be the right match. I think they could probably get a drink once a year and have a laugh at a dive bar."
She added,
"These people have gone through something that I think they've both grown from and will go on to find other people. But I think probably too much has happened for them to find their way back to each other."
So it can be concluded that Iris and Isaac don't end up together. The film was released by Sony Pictures Classics on July 25, 2025.
