Justice League director Zack Snyder is all set to direct, co-write, and co-produce a UFC fighter drama film titled Brawler. Snyder will be joined by UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) CEO Dana White and GAE (General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia) Chairman His Excellency Turki Alalshikh as key executive producers.

The film's logline, per Deadline, reads,

“Rising from the rough streets of Los Angeles, a young fighter gets a shot at a UFC championship, battling his inner demons as he fights for redemption.”

Zack Snyder will write the script with Kurt Johnstad and Shay Hatten, who previously collaborated to write his Rebel Moon space opera films for Netflix. Johstad and Hatten will also executive produce. Deborah Snyder and Wesley Coller will join Zack Snyder as producers under The Stone Quarry banner.

Brawler marks Snyder's potential return to theaters after the fan-demanded Justice League. When asked about this latest project, Snyder said,

“Behind every great fighter is the story of how they got there. UFC is the world leader in combat sports and I’m honored to be partnering with them to tell this incredible story.”

GAE CEO His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, who also owns the boxing-related The Ring Magazine, shared a statement about his latest collaboration with filmmaker Zack Snyder. It reads,

“I’ve been a fan of Zack’s work for years, his unique style — from his iconic action sequences to his sweeping visuals and intensely emotional storytelling — coupled with his humanized portrayal of deeply flawed characters is singular. I couldn’t think of a better person to partner with to bring the UFC to the big screen. The Ring Magazine, with its 103-year legacy, will support to ensure the project’s success.”

Dana White also shared his thoughts on this forthcoming collaboration. He says,

“His Excellency Turki Alalshikh and Zack Snyder have a shared vision to create a film about UFC. They are both verypassionate about this project to show fans what it takes to become a UFC champion. It’s an incredibly ambitious project and I look forward to seeing it come to life.”

Alalshikh has previously written a horror film titled The Cello, which starred Jeremy Irons (Dead Ringers) and Tobin Bell (Saw). White has spearheaded many UFC projects as a producer.

Snyder has a few more projects on his roster, mainly an untitled Netflix action film about an LAPD unit. It will mark his next collaboration with the streamer, who previously backed his Rebel Moon movies and Army of the Dead.
