Why did Hulk Hogan and Linda Hogan divorce? Christiane Plante affair explored as WWE star blamed for family rift

Hulk Hogan and his ex-wife Linda Hogan's divorce is among the most controversial and chronicled breakups in WWE history. Over a decade and a half later, family tension continue to increase, with Linda blaming Hulk, whose real name is Terry Bollea, for the continued estrangement between herself and their daughter Brooke Hogan.

The 71 year-old retired wrestler was married to Linda Hogan for 24 years before their marriage ended in 2007. The divorce was finalized in 2009 after a lengthy legal fight over their estimated $30 million fortune.

Linda claimed Hulk cheated on her with one of Brooke’s best friends, Christiane Plante, which she said was a leading cause of their split. Although Hulk denied infidelity in his 2009 memoir, My Life Outside the Ring, Linda insisted that his cheating was a major factor in the couple's marital split.

In a 2009 interview, Linda Hogan described how the situation affected her emotionally, claiming she questioned her own self-worth, and asking herself if she was “too fat” or “too dumb” to keep Hulk Hogan interested.

"There were infidelities. It scared me because I thought 'Oh my God, is that my fault? Is he moving on? Am I just a dumb housewife?" she said.

In a 2008 interview with National Enquirer, Plante confessed she was the other woman in Hulk and Linda Hogan's marriage. In the interview Plante said:

“My relationship with Terry began at a time when Terry and Linda privately knew their marriage was ending. She had left him already, although no official papers had been filed.”

Plante reavealed after the affair surfaced her relationship with Brooke Logan was broken. She continued:

“Having felt the guilt and pain build up, I gave a note to Brooke apologizing for my actions. I will never be able to fully forgive myself for this. I have lost an amazing friend.”

Hulk and Linda are living their own separate lives these days. Hulk has since remarried, marrying yoga instructor Sky Daily in 2023.

Linda, on the other hand, decided to live her own separate life and concentrate on herself, such as her work for animal charities and she has also repeatedly stated that she is not interested in getting remarried.

Linda Hogan recently blamed Hulk Hogan for their strained relationship with their daughter

It was within a few days that Linda Hogan lashed out on social media about how their divorce still impacts their family. She said she felt heartbroken over her strained relationship with their daughter, Brooke Hogan, who has distanced herself from the family.

Linda Hogan recently shared her emotions and grief through an instagram story where she stated that Brooke had stopped talking to her after a feud with Hulk. Linda even confirmed that Brooke Hogan married in 2022 and had twins without informing her.

"It’s been 15 however long years since I left Hulk Hogan and my family is the worst mess...Brooke doesn’t talk to us. She had twins, she got married [and] she didn’t tell us,"

Meanwhile, she remains close with her son, Nick Hogan, who has continued to reach out to her, despite of his own past controversies.

In the video, Linda slammed Hulk Hogan, labeling him a “liar” and a “s*x addict” and accusing him of disregarding the pain he’s inflicted on the family. Hulk, meanwhile, has largely stayed away from addressing the allegations publicly.
