Emilio Garcia, a former cameraman for Megan Thee Stallion, sued Stallion, accusing her of harassment and fostering a hostile work environment in a lawsuit filed in April 2024 with the Los Angeles Supreme Court.

As per journalist Meghan Cuniff, Emilio Garcia was sanctioned to appear for a pretrial conference by a federal judge. After he failed to appear, he was ordered to pay the fees for the singer's lawyers and her record label Roc Nation's lawyers on November 19. As per Cuniff, Emilio has to pay legal fees of up to $6,000 for the missed conference.

Emilio Garcia worked as a personal cameraman for Megan Thee Stallion from 2019 to 2023 and alleged that he was trapped in a moving vehicle while the singer had s*x with a woman. While speaking to NBC News at the time, Garcia claimed that he was "uncomfortable" and "shocked" at the singer's "overall audacity" to carry on her actions while he was right beside her.

"This is an employment claim for money" - says Megan Thee Stallion's lawyer about Emilio Garcia

When the lawsuit was filed, Megan Thee Stallion's lawyer, Alex Spiro, in an email to TIME, claimed that Emilio was fishing for money with the case.

"This is an employment claim for money - with no s**ual harassment claim filed and with salacious accusations to attempt to embarass her. We will deal with this in court."

Megan, in a new filing to the Los Angeles County Superior Court on May 30, responded to the claims through her lawyer, Mari Henderson, who said,

"Plaintiff is a con-artist who is manipulating the judiciail system to act as his publicist and bullhorn in a desperate attempt to boost his failed singing career while trying to tear down the successful career of Ms. Pete."

Angry at the loss of this high-profile gig and his exile from the inner circles of stardom, Plaintiff filed a factually and legally frivolous complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court plagued with falsehoods, misirepresentations of fact, and outlandish claims."

In the lawsuit, Garcia also claimed that Megan hurled fatphobic comments at him and called him a "fat b**ch" while telling him to "spit your food out." Garcia noted that he felt "degraded" by Megan's alleged choice of words.

As per NBC, Garcia was seeking more than six figures for damages and was also fighting for unpaid wages, interest on unpaid wages, unpaid overtime wages, and other employee benefits at the legal rate.
