Recently becoming a father-in-law, Michael J Fox is set to appear as Paul in the third season of the Apple TV series Shrinking in January 2026. This comes after he told Entertainment Tonight in April 2024 that he would only return to acting if something came up he could “put my realities into.”
The show creator, Harrison Ford, told Variety in July 2025:
“Michael's courage, his fortitude and his grace, more than anything else, are on full display. He's a very smart, very brave, noble, generous, passionate guy, and an example to all of us, whether we're facing Parkinson's or not.”
Ford added, “You cannot help but recognize how amazing it is to have such grace. He gives me both a physical representation of the disease to inform myself with, but more than that, he allows me to believe that Paul could believe that he could be adequate to the challenge.”
Before signing up for his latest project, Michael J. Fox told AARP Magazine in 2021 that he was considering retiring from acting, as he couldn’t deliver his performances “comfortably” anymore.
