Brett Favre scandals are explored in Netflix's riveting new documentary, Untold: The Fall of Favre, which focuses on his wife, Deanna Favre, as well as who has supported him for decades. Released on May 20, the movie analyzes the former quarterback's complicated legacy, including his reported scandals and legal issues, while also illuminating his family life and personal connections.
Deanna Favre and Brett Favre have been married since 1996. However, they have been together since their high school years in Kiln, Mississippi. Author and breast cancer survivor Deanna has played a pivotal role in Brett's life, helping him navigate a turbulent football career and a number of public scandals.
Jenn Sterger, a former reporter for the New York Jets, even mentioned in the documentary how much she looked like Deanna, suggesting that Favre's purported attempts on her were all the more startling.
She said:
"I look a lot like his wife.’”
Deanna has supported Favre through public scrutiny and personal hardship despite a number of accusations, including an explicit sexting scandal and his involvement in the Mississippi welfare fraud case.
He shares two kids with Deanna, Brittany Favre, who is now 36, and Breleigh Favre, who is 25.
Brett became a parent at the age of 21 when Britanny was born, right before his NFL career got off. After obtaining a law degree, Brittany has now established a life centered on both career and family achievement. Brett Favre has discussed in interviews how having a child at a young age altered his outlook.
The younger daughter, Breleigh, excelled in volleyball while attending the University of Southern Mississippi. In addition to her athletic prowess, her father's alleged misappropriation of welfare money to assist in the construction of a new volleyball stadium at her school- a matter currently at the center of a legal lawsuit- also garnered media attention throughout her college.
Because of his personal experience, Brett Favre has already talked candidly about the emotional difficulties of parenthood. According to Brett's recollection on Our American Stories, his late father Irvin Favre "never told us he loved us," which prompted him to vow to always show his love for his kids, especially his daughters.
“Believe me, I'm blessed. I'm an extremely blessed man. I look at my family, what a lucky man.”
Brett Favre said in 2016, when he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, praising his family. He also talked about how children grow up really quick:
“Grow up and they're out of [the] house very quickly.”
He added:
“And the things that our parents said to us that we said, ‘Yeah, right, Mom. Yeah, right, Dad.’ Well, they come true. And so the same things I tell my daughters and have told them: Love them while you can, they grow up quickly.”
