Who is Audra Mari? Age and more explored as Josh Duhamel admits age gap with wife

As per a recent article by US Weekly, digital content creator Josh Duhamel recently admitted that the reason why he was friends with his now-wife, Audra Mari, was because of their 21-year age gap.

This happened during a recent episode of Amanda Hirsch's podcast Not Too Skinny Not Too Fat. Duhamel admitted that though he already knew who Mari was due to her winnings in beauty pageants, she was the one who had reached out first.

He further said that the two kept their relationship platonic for some time as Duhamel wondered whether Mari might be too young for him.

"It was truly platonic for years before that because I was like, ‘No, she’s too young for me. I’m not even going to go there." said Duhamel on the podcast “Then, we started DMing back and forth.”

Duhamel further explained that a mutual friend got involved and that he went ahead and called Mari for a barbecue. He explained that he was mesmerized to see Audra Mari.

“Then, I invited her to a barbecue, still thinking it was totally platonic just as a friend from [North Dakota]. There aren’t many people from there. But she did come, and I saw her and I was like, ‘Holy s***, this girl’s beautiful."

The two were first spotted at Toronto airport in 2019, after which rumors of their romance started spreading. Duhamel and Audra Mari confirmed their relationship in January and tied the knot two years later in September 2022.

“Everyone told me that after you get married you feel different,” Mari told Us Weekly in 2022. “To be honest, I never really believed them, and I thought it would feel the same way it’s felt being with Joshua for the last three years. But it’s much different! I feel secure.”

The two also share a child named Shephard Lawrence, who was born in January 2024. Duhamel also has an 11-year-old son named Axl, whom he shares with his ex-wife Fergie. Before marrying Audra Mari, Josh Duhamel was married to the Black Eyed Peas singer, Fergie.

"I gotta say, things are, things are probably better than they’ve ever been,” Duhamel told Us Weekly in March. “[I’ve got] two healthy boys, brand new, 1-year-old. [I’ve] got an amazing 11-year-old. [I’m] married, working. You know, everything is good.”

About Audra Mari

As per The Sun, Mari was crowned Miss North Dakota USA in the year 2014. She was also awarded the runner-up position in that year's Miss USA competition. In 2016, she won the title of Miss World America and represented the country in the prestigious Miss World competition that year. She was able to secure a position in the top six of the competition.

They were spotted at the Toronto airport in the year 2019. As per ET, the two met through common friends. In January 2022, Duhamel proposed to Audra Mari on the beach, after which the two tied the knot in September 2022. They broke the news of the birth of their first child, named Shephard Lawrence Duhamel, in January.
