Phil Robertson, 78, has been struggling with Alzheimer's for months now. Last year, in December, his son, Jase Robertson, spoke about his father's diagnosis of this blood disease on the Unashamed With The Robertson Family podcast.

Disclosing his father's health updates, he shared that the Duck Dynasty actor was in the early stages at the end of 2024. During the podcast, he said,

"Phil’s not doing well. I think I spoke on the 1000th podcast. We were trying to figure out the diagnosis, but according to the doctors, they are sure that he has some sort of blood disease that's causing all kinds of problems."

Seeing Phil Robertson struggling with Alzheimer's, he further added,

"He has early stages of Alzheimer's so if you put those things together, he's just not doing well."

During that period, the disease created several problems for the actor.

Jase Robertson talked about Phil Robertson's present health updates

In a recent episode of the Unashamed With The Robertson Family podcast, Jase, 55, shared about Phil Robertson's current physical state with the listeners. The April 2 episode featured Jase Robertson, Al Robertson, and Zach Dasher.

Unfortunately, the actor's present condition does not look good. Recalling how people ask him, "How's your dad doing?" Jase said,

"Now, I’m just giving the blunt truth. I say, 'Not good.'"

Phil is looked after with the help of "some professional care." After his Alzheimer's diagnosis, his health has worsened quite noticeably. Zach went to meet him sometime back, and he was deeply disappointed following the visit.

Jase had a conversation with Dasher after he met Phil Robertson. Reflecting on the moment, he further continued,

"I pulled in when Zach was coming out and I was like, 'How'd that go?'"

Jase also added:

"And Zach just lost it, you know, and I kind of realized in that moment when you're in these battles day by day you kind of compartmentalize everything just so you can deal with it."

Talking about Phil Robetson, Jase talked about trying to do the most to make his father feel well.

"We're making him comfortable and we're doing the best we can. I think that's just what you do."

Remembering about visiting Phil, Zach shared,

"I've said this a lot about dementia and Alzheimer's. But I think anyone in our audience who's gone through it, this will resonate with them — that we talk a lot about how it steals the memories of the ones who have the disease."

Feeling dim about the conversation, Dasher added,

"I didn't anticipate breaking down on you, Jase."

Jase responded to his sentiment by stating, "Well, it's just been tough, but we appreciate the prayers."
