Popular Twitch streamer and YouTuber Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter confirmed last year that she will cameo in Jason Momoa and Jack Black starrer, A Minecraft Movie.

After the film was released last weekend, it was reported that the content creator’s appearance was removed from the final cut. Many on the internet speculated that Valkyrae’s absence from A Minecraft Movie might have something to do with her comments about Jason Momoa. As of now, makers haven’t said anything about the reported exclusion.

Last year in September, a fellow Twitch streamer, Jason “JasonTheWeen” Nguyen, was interviewing Valkyrae during a streamer. When he asked her about the “worst celebrity or streamer experience” she ever had, Hofstetter named the Aquaman star. She said,

“I have a cameo in A Minecraft Movie. It’s coming out. So...I really have to say, Jason Momoa… I just saw him, like, mistreat some of the crew, and it was pretty disappointing. I do… It was after a very intense scene, and it was a very emotional scene, so maybe he was still in character. I don’t know."

The Twitch streamer said she was surprised by how Momoa treated some crew members.

“He was just really mad at them that they weren’t doing something, uh, right. The way… It was like setting up the shot and stuff and, like, he was just angry, like really mad and yelling. I was like, this is not a good work environment, I would not be happy working under those conditions.”

Months after the interview, the Twitch streamer’s cameo role was reportedly cut from the final version of the flick.

Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter did a livestream on April 6 2025. During a chat with her viewers, the streamer also addressed her absence from A Minecraft Movie. Hofstetter didn’t share much while saying (around the 17:25 mark on Twitch),

“As for the Minecraft Movie! Um, let’s just say I am not gonna touch too much on it. But as much as you guys saw the other creators that were in it, [it] would have been the equal amount you saw me in it which is, like, 30 seconds. So, it's okay, um, I would much rather not have that 30 seconds than be sued. So, it’s all good, okay? It’s all good.”

She continued talking about her 10-day experience, getting filmed for A Minecraft Movie in New Zealand,

“It really was a wonderful 10 days in New Zealand for that 30 seconds, and I'm really glad that I got to visit New Zealand. But, um, I’m just… I feel like things could've been so much worse, you know what I mean? So, that's all I'm going to say about it, okay?”

While addressing the exclusion of her 30-second cameo, Valkyrae didn’t mention A Minecraft Movie makers or Jason Momoa to avoid any speculations, supposedly. When her viewers started bashing the film for its content, the streamer defended it by asserting,

“It’s honestly okay [...] It's not even Minecraft. It is not… It's not even their fault. Don't even worry. Don’t worry… No, the movie did not suck! I thought it was good. I actually thought it was good.”

Valkyrae proclaimed that she was surprised after discovering that “some people didn’t like it.” She added that A Minecraft Movie “had a lot of easter eggs.” She called the film “a cute Minecraft movie.”

The Jason Momoa and Jack Black starrer film might not have met the ideal critical reception, but it shattered box office records with a $301 million global opening. With its worldwide gross during the first weekend, A Minecraft Movie dethroned Chris Pratt starrer The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

The Minecraft-inspired movie became the highest-grossing opening weekend for a video game adaptation.
