The Wicked actor and former Saturday Night Live cast member Bowen Yang co-hosts the Las Culturistas podcast along with comedian-turned-actor Matt Rogers. During the January 7, 2026, episode, Yang agreed with Rogers' take that it would be a "waste" of money to support the 44-year-old Jasmine Crockett. Crockett is a Democratic Party member and a lawyer who represents Texas's 30th congressional district, and Yang's comments also extended to her Senate campaign, according to Fox News.
Matt Rogers, a writer and TV host, also took a dig at Gavin Newsom, the Governor of California and a Democratic Party member, in a 60-second segment on their podcast. As per Fox News, Rogers called both Newsom and Crockett self-centered politicians. Rogers, during the January 7 episode, said about Jasmine Crockett:
"Anytime a politician is making it too obviously about themselves, I'm already done. And don't waste your money sending to Jasmine Crockett. Do not do it."
To which Bowen Yang replied:
"I must agree."
Rogers went ahead and said:
"Don't do it. Don't. You're going to waste your money. Take it from someone who sent Sara Gideon a ton of money in Maine. Just don't do it. Don't waste your money. Don't do it."
To which Bowen responded by saying:
"It's hard enough to come by."
While Matt Rogers took a moment to explain that he meant nothing in particular against U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett. He stated that Jasmine was too "well-defined" as a politician to get through and win a national or statewide election. Rogers added:
"She's not going to win a Senate seat in Texas, you guys. Like, if Beto O’Rourke couldn't do it, Jasmine Crockett is not going to do it."
Besides talking about Jasmine Crockett, Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang also discussed their past support for Hillary Clinton

During the January 7 episode of the Las Culturistas podcast, Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang also talked about Hillary Clinton. They reflected on how they supported her during the 2016 United States presidential election. Bowen said:
"This is another thing about early days 'Las Culturistas' that I regret is being a Hillary stan."
To which Rogers replied:
"I don't regret it because I think we were trying really hard to just win."
Yang further added:
"I know. But I feel so silly."
