Karoline Leavitt has drawn the ire of the internet after she seemingly shared photoshopped pictures of her husband, Nicholas Riccio.
The White House press secretary, 27, took to Instagram this week with photos of her family celebrating Halloween. While her 6-month-old son, Niko, was dressed like a pumpkin, Leavitt and her husband, 59, were clad in all-black ensembles.
They posed for the camera on the steps of Vice President JD Vance’s Naval Observatory home, located in northwest Washington, D.C. However, what caught fans' attention was the first photo, where her husband's face was seemingly airbrushed.
As a result, the spotlight has once again shifted to Karoline Leavitt and Riccio's 32-year age gap. The pair tied the knot just this January. While Leavitt is the youngest White House press secretary in history, her millionaire husband is a real estate developer. He reportedly boasts over 15 buildings in Hampton Beach, N.H., which he rents out.
Everything we know about Karoline Leavitt and Nicholas Riccio's romance:
As of this writing, Karoline Leavitt has yet to comment on the scrutiny involving her latest Halloween pictures. However, she has long been vocal about her and Riccio's romance. In March, during an appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show, she recalled the first time they met:
“A mutual friend of ours hosted an event at a restaurant that he owns up in New Hampshire and invited my husband,” she said at the time. “I was speaking. We met and we were acquainted as friends. And then we fell in love."
She continued of her husband,
“He is my greatest supporter, he’s my best friend and he’s my rock. He’s built a very successful business himself so now he’s fully supportive of me building my success in my career. And he is so supportive, especially during a very chaotic period of life. I say, ‘I walked into your life and it’s been a circus ever since,’ but God bless him because he’s fully on board.”
Back when they met, Karoline Leavitt was reportedly 25 years old. They welcomed their son on July 10, 2024, and tied the knot six months later, just days before Trump was inaugurated as president. Speaking with The Conservateur in an October 2024 interview, she said that her husband is supportive of her, though she doesn't like showing him off online:
“He's an introvert (complete opposite of me),” she told followers. “I respect his privacy on here—but he's my number one fan, the best dad, and just the best man I've ever met.”
