Bodybuilding legend Ronnie Coleman was earlier hospitalized in late June, due to a "serious medical condition." While it wasn't clear at the time what Ronnie was dealing with, he had earlier mentioned it to be a "medical emergency." He had noted that his situation would prevent him from going to an event in the United Kingdom.

Coleman's family had shared an update through his Instagram profile on July 7, noting that the bodybuilder's overall condition "remains serious but stable." The update read,

"At this time, Ronnie's overrall condition remains serious but stable, with continued signs of gradual recovery. His medical team is still actively working to identify the source of the infection, which can take several days to confirm through testing."

The health update continued,

"During a recent round of evaluations, doctors identified an additional underlying health matter that will require a surgical procedure. This procedure is expected to take place in these coming days, and the medical team is confident in their approach as part of Ronnie's broader care plan."

What did Ronnie Coleman's family say about his health earlier?

Ronnie Coleman initially announced news about his health on June 30 on Instagram, noting that he would be unable to make it to the UK as planned.

"Unfortunately, I had a medical emergency and had to stick around here in the U.S for treatment."

Ronnie reassured his fans that he's in "great hands" and getting the "best care." On the same day, Ronnie's family issued another update noting that the bodybuilder was admitted to the hospital on the morning of June 30. The family stated that they will not be sharing "additional details," as their primary focus was on "Ronnie's recovery and well-being."

In a follow-up post, Ronnie's family noted that he had been transferred to a specialized medical facility to receive "the highest level of care available," adding,

"He is currently being treated for an infection in his bloodstream and remains under close, intensive medical supervision."

In a 4th post, Ronnie's family emphasized that Ronnie is "awake, aware, and fully conscious," adding that the bodybuilder is undergoing "two advanced diagnostic procedures." The post also mentioned that it's a "critical period in his recovery," adding that he needs his fans' "collective strength, positivity, and prayers."
