Although the comedian had previously shared his disinterest in dating, Drew Carey, as of late, was spotted having lunch with an adult social media content creator.
Back in 2020, Carey, now 66 years old, said that he was “destroyed” after his former fiancée, Amie Harwick, was murdered by a former boyfriend. Harwick, an American marriage and family therapist, was known for her work with clients in West Hollywood. In addition, she also used to regularly share her work on podcasts and television.

What Happened to Drew Carey's ex-fiancée?
As detailed in a CBS News report, the murder of Amie Harwick occurred on February 15, 2020. Her roommate, Michael Herman, the man who tried to save her life, was haunted by the events he witnessed at the time.
Herman was in a lower-level room when the attack happened. As he was unable to find his phone, he ran next door in a cry for help, however, no one answered. He was then able to call for assistance using a stranger’s phone out on the street.
When LAPD officers entered the scene, they discovered Harwick beneath her balcony with severe injuries. On the same balcony, police found a syringe with a yellow-brown liquid inside. Though the suspect had fled the scene, a shattered French door window revealed signs of a break-in. Amie Harwick was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Her ex-boyfriend, Gareth Pursehouse, was arrested and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
In a statement shared with Variety after Harwick's passing away, Drew Carey shared
“Amie and I had a love that people are lucky to have once in a lifetime.”
“She was a positive force in the world, a tireless and unapologetic champion for women, and passionate about her work as a therapist. I am overcome with grief. I would like to thank you in advance for giving myself and everyone who loved Amie privacy while we try to work through this tragic situation.”
Drew Carey also shared a small clip of them on Twitter, now rebranded as X.
In 2017, Drew Carey and Amie Harwick went on a date to Disneyland, commencing their relationship. The couple followed up with an engagement in early 2018, however, they parted ways later that same year. According to those close to them, the breakup was friendly, though they didn’t stay in touch afterwards, until shortly before Harwick’s death.
In an interview shared with Us Weekly, the 'Whose Line Is It Anyway' host opened up about his personal life. When asked about Amie Harwick, he said
All the time. I think about her every day. It’s such a loss. Her death still affects me and my ideas about relationships and intimacy. It was all damaged by first our breakup, and then, the day before she died, when she texted me. It had been a really bad breakup for both of us, but a necessary one. I couldn’t think about her or see a picture of her. I didn’t want to be reminded. "
He added that he had received a text from her out of the blue. She said,
“Hey, it’s Amie. I’ve been thinking a lot about forgiveness. I would love to get together with you and talk about some things.”
Drew Carey then replied to her text, saying that he loved her and he’d meet her the next week. He also revealed that he got to know from one of her friends that Harwick was in tears when he expressed back, saying that he loved her still.
“Which I did. I loved her madly even though we were broken up.”
Even though moving on was difficult, he shared what helped him a great deal.
"After Amie died and we had the funeral, her three best friends reached out, saying, “We wanted to tell you how much Amie loved you and cared for you and how well she spoke of you.” I was so moved by it. They’ve now become some of my best friends. I also got to reconnect with her mother, father and brother. We held each other up through the funeral and the trial"
He keeps her in his memory. Drew Carey expressed,
"Now Amie’s memory and the things she lived for keep us going."
