Karrueche Tran and Brown's controversial history explored

According to a TMZ report published June 15, 2017, Karrueche Tran was previously granted a five-year restraining order against the American R&B musician.

The report stated that Chris Brown threatened violence against his ex-girlfriend after they split, and demanded that she return the diamond rings he gave her during their relationship.

Karrueche Tran shared that in text messages post-breakup he would allegedly say things like:

"I'm not being nice to you no more, if I see you out in public again and I'm there I will make you hate me even more, don't be anywhere I'm out in public, I'm going to ban you from all events."

Tran claimed that she also received alleged threats like:

"I can get my money back and I'm tired of playing games"

He reportedly also gave her violent threats such as:

"I will beat the s**t out of you," and "I promise you I will make your life hell."

According to an article by The Guardian published in October 2024:

A restraining order filed in 2017 by his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran alleged that Brown repeatedly harassed her, punched her, threatened to kill her and her friends and pushed her down the stairs during their relationship.

Chris Brown's previous assualt controversey

In a BBC article, Brown spoke about his previous assault controversy with ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Brown had allegedly attacked her in his car, leading to Rihanna being bruised with a split lip in 2009. He alleged that during a spat about another woman, Rihanna hit and kicked him before he assaulted her and bit her.

He shared that he felt like a monster, adding that

the fight would "haunt me forever."

The court gave Brown a community service order, along with five years of probation.

In the documentary, Chris Brown: Welcome to my Life, he has admitted that once he confessed to Rihanna that he had been unfaithful to her with an ex-employee, their relationship deteriorated.

"She didn't care, she just didn't trust me after that," he said.

"From there, it just went downhill because it would be fights, it would be verbal fights, physical fights as well..." he added.

"We were fighting each other. She would hit me, I would hit her. But it never was OK," Brown summed up.

He then recalled the incident in detail:

"I remember she was trying to kick me. It was just her just being upset. But then I really hit her. With a closed fist, like I punched her and it busted her lip. And when I saw it I was in shock. Why the hell did I hit her?

He added:

"From there, she just spit in my face, spit blood in my face, so it enraged me even more. It was a real fight in a car."
