Jon Stewart praised Kamala Harris' abortion comments during his appearance on The Daily Show on September 10, 2024. In the show, he reacted to key takeaways from the presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.

The show played clips of Trump and Harris from the presidential debate. A clip of Kamala Harris' comments on abortion played where she can be heard saying,

"I have talked with women around our country. You wanna talk about this is what people wanted? Pregnant women who want to carry a pregnancy to term, suffering from a miscarriage, being denied care in an emergency room because the healthcare providers are afraid they might go to jail - and she's bleeding out in a car in the parking lot? She didn't want that."

To which Jon Stewart reacted saying,

"Holy sh** she crushed that. This is like one of those 'Groundhog Day' movies where you get to go back and fix the bad way something happened earlier to the good way."

He also called the presidential race "tight as a teenage boy's pants during a Sydney Sweeney film festival."

"I believe Trump himself may be becoming one of Springfield's most famous residents," says Jon Stewart

The Daily Show host made fun of an old clip of former U.S. President Donald Trump making comments about immigrants eating pets in Springfield, Ohio. In the clip, Trump can be heard saying,

"We're a failing nation. In Springfield, they're eating the dogs, the people that came in. They're eating the cats. They're eating the pets of the people that live there."

Jon Stewart said he has spent time in Springfield and knows "what's happening here." He added that he believes "Trump himself may be becoming one of Springfield's most famous residents" and played an old clip from The Simpsons featuring Grampa Simpson.

Jon Stewart said, "It is the quality of the former president I respect the least." Stewart noted that whenever Trump is cornered or forced to face the smallest consequences of his strategies, he "reverts to the greatest refuge of scoundrels."

He then addressed Trump's supporters and said that Trump, who "constantly professes to be your champion," will always say the same thing when the moment strikes: "I didn't know anything about it." He added that if it were any other country, "the lack of accountability would be disqualifying."
