"There was really a chance where it was over" - Seth Meyers on his favourite 'day drinking' guest

Comedian and prominent television host Seth Meyers recently revealed his best drinking partner in the Seth Goes Day Drinking segment of his talk show, and the netizens are thrilled to know that. Meyers, widely known for hosting one of the most popular talk shows, The Late Night with Seth Meyers, previously drank with several high-profile celebrities during the above-mentioned segment. Some of the earlier guests with whom Seth got sloshed include Paul Rudd, Kristen Stewart, Lorde, Dua Lipa, and others.

However, as much fun as it was drinking with others during the Seth Goes Day Drinking segment, Meyers revealed that it was Rihanna, whom he considers his best drinking buddy. However, while Rihanna remains his best drinking partner, Seth also had a drinking session with Kevin Hart in 2024 during the same segment.

The only difference was that while drinking with Meyers, Hart thought he was about to die. Kevin recalled the time when he appeared on The Late Night With Seth Meyers in March 2025 and said:

"I came into that day with such an idea of who I thought I was. I was like, ‘This gonna be crazy. I’m gonna drink with Seth, show him what I do because I know I drink like I used to’ … and I almost died. There was really a chance where it was over."

Then Seth added:

"And then you called me the next morning and yelled at me like I had tried to kill you"

Rihanna is Seth Meyers' best drinking buddy

In 2019, the renowned pop star Rihanna appeared on the show and had back-to-back drinks during the famous segment, leaving Seth drunk, while she walked straight and looked absolutely fine.

The 37-year-old Rihanna, who was recently seen at the 2025 Met Gala showcasing her baby bump as she confirmed her third child with partner A$AP Rocky, according to Seth Meyers, surprisingly has a high drinking capacity. On the May 21, 2025 episode of the Table Manners With Jessie and Lennie Ware podcast, Seth recalled the time when he and Rihanna drank together during the Seth Goes Day Drinking segment and revealed his best drinking partner. Meyers said:

"I will say Rihanna, who’s the best at a lot of categories, but she just kept her composure. We just [gave] her stupid drinks. There was like a ‘Bitch Better Have My Bunny’ where we drank something out of a chocolate bunny."

While talking about his experience drinking with Rihanna, Meyers on The Late Late Show With James Corden said:

"First of all, I should note that — hate to break the news here — but she’s younger than me. We drank the same amount and then she definitely went out, like she was fine. She walked out, she looked as good as she did when we started.”

While Rihanna was fine after their drinking session, Seth, on the other hand, was quite drunk. He also shared the story of how he passed out in the hallway of his house and couldn't make it to his bed. Meyers said:

"I went home, immediately fell asleep in the hallway of my apartment. Got in the door, fell asleep. My wife passively-aggressively put a water next to my head and went to bed."
