Stephen Miller, once the senior aide to former President Donald Trump, addressed the crowd at a Trump rally in Madison Square Garden on Sunday. However, his comments have since proved contentious, given that everyone online is ridiculing him. He boldly declared,
“America is for Americans and Americans only.”
Within minutes of the footage making it to X, users online began asking for an apology, while others critiqued the former Trump White House adviser for his stance. Some even pointed out that his chants echoed that of Adolf Hitler, when he said, in 1934,
"Germany is for Germans and Germans only."
As one user commented,
"That is no accident to phrase it like that."
Several others concurred:
"What does “America is for Americans only” mean given that America is a country of largely immigrants except for Native Americans?" someone asked.
"I suggest that everyone leaves & hands back the country to the American Indian tribes then," another person advised.
"Apologies, civilized world. These people do not represent America - I hope," someone else tweeted.
"Hard to believe he grew up in Santa Monica, California. I need the cartoon villain origin story," one user joked.
Scores online were seemingly disappointed upon hearing of Stephen Miller's stance:
"Since when! As we have said, racism is alive and well! Thanks for saying it out loud so we can stop pretending," one user stated.
"How in the world does Stephen Miller (a Jew) sleep at night? He idolizes someone who idolizes Hitler," another pointed out.
"Stephen Miller has been a Hitler fanboy for most of his life. This was known before he worked in the west wing the first time," yet another claimed.
Others online pointed out that he is the son of two immigrants, given that his mother's forefathers, as well as his wife, came to the US from what is present-day Belarus.
Stephen Miller joins Tucker Carlson and comedian Tony Hinchcliffe in dissing immigrants at Trump rally
Stephen Miller was not the only one to tout the possibility of an immigrant-free America that night, as before his 5-minute speech, comedian Tony Hinchcliffe took to the stage to diss the Latino and Puerto Rican community. According to him, the latter resides on “a floating island of garbage." Trump echoed the sentiments:
"You've destroyed our country. We're not going to take it anymore, Kamala, you're fired. Get out. Get out. You're fired."
Tucker Carlson followed suit, mocking Harris for her biracial heritage. He said, given that her mother is Indian and her father Jamaican, that she would be:
“the first Samoan Malaysian low IQ former California prosecutor ever to be elected President.”
Rudy Giuliani and Stephen Miller both contended that immigrants were to be blamed for the two assassination attempts on the former President, while New York Republican David Rem dubbed the Madam Vice President “anti-Christ.”
The upcoming Presidential election is slated for Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Only time will tell how the remarks made at the Trump rally in Madison Square Garden on Sunday fare for the former President, and whether he manages to make it to office for the second time.
