Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, in a recent appearance on Club Shay Shay, told host Shannon Sharpe that his ex-wife, Renee, still has full access to his bank account. Portnoy mentioned that despite their divorce in 2017, the two are still friends.
"She's still my best friend, like we get along. But she was with me at the beginning of this company, and if she called me right now and is like, 'I need you,' I'd be there. It just didn't work as a marriage."
He also added,
"I trust her implicitly. If she wanted to take it, she could."
After Portnoy's interview clip went viral on the internet, netizens took to @FearBuck's X repost to react. Users insinuated that Renee knows something that Dave Portnoy doesn't want to get out. Hence, he gives her access to his money.

This isn't the first time Dave Portnoy has discussed his finances. While speaking to Sage Steele in another online interview, Portnoy mentioned that his ex, Renee, has access to his wealth.
The couple tied the knot in 2008, before separating in 2017, and reportedly share a unique friendship. While mentioning the reason behind giving Renee access to his wealth, Dave revealed that Renee supported him before his company, Barstool Sports, became a success.
"We met when Barstool was nothing, so she rode the grind with us. She was with me every step of the way. So in my mind, she's entitled to enjoy the fruits of it."
He then went on to add,
"She currently has access to all my money. If she just wanted to be like, 'I'm taking it' and be gone, she could. But we've had that joint bank account forever. I trust her implicitly. She has full access for a long time."
