On March 30, 2025, Blake Lively was spotted working at a Connecticut donut place called Rise Doughnut. The actress also shared a photo on her Instagram Stories showing a massive kitchen mixer while baking with friends. She said this setup was her idea of a happy place.

However, Blake Lively's culinary escapade wasn’t away from criticism, as netizens pointed out that she didn’t wear a hairnet while working at Rise Doughnut. In a shocking turn of events, an investigation was carried out at the eatery after an anonymous complaint, according to TMZ. The issue was closed after officials did not find any violations.

The news outlet noted that following Blake Lively’s visit, Rise Doughnut’s Yelp received an array of negative comments. This eventually led the social networking site to post an unusual activity alert with a message that read:

“This business recently received increased public attention, which often means people come to this page to post their views on the news. While we don't take a stand one way or the other when it comes to this incident, we've temporarily disabled the posting of content to this page as we work to investigate whether the content you see here reflects actual consumer experiences rather than the recent events.”

A source, speaking to TMZ, claimed that the complaints came from people who had never visited the place and didn’t even live in Connecticut. They added that going after a small, family-run business is a new low.

Blake Lively shared photos of her self-made raspberry crumble on Instagram last year

During her time at Rise Doughnut, Blake Lively chatted with a father and son, and the dad pointed out to his kid that her husband is the actor who plays Deadpool. According to the Daily Mail, the Wilton Health Department confirmed they received complaints about Lively working at the doughnut shop without any hair covering, which raised concerns about cleanliness. The department later cleared the donut shop of health code violations.

One Yelp reviewer questioned whether it was normal for staff to handle food with their hair down. Another claimed that they found hair in their doughnuts and described a blonde woman behind the counter as loud and irritating.

A previous Instagram video from the shop allegedly showed staff working without hairnets, which added to the complaints. The business was reportedly investigated due to these concerns. In July 2024, Blake Lively baked raspberry crumble and shared photos in her Instagram stories. She wrote:

“Meanwhile, I made this raspberry crumble today with raspberries from the bushes … at least I think they were raspberries.”

According to People Magazine, Blake Lively also shared a lighthearted video of her It Ends with Us co-stars, Brandon Sklenar and Alex Neustaedter, trying to bake chocolate chip cookies without any instructions but only the ingredients. She joked that she would rather let wild animals in her kitchen next time.

In the caption, Lively teased that the guys were threatening her baking reputation and asked fans to help set them straight. After trying their cookies in the video, she admitted the taste wasn’t awful, but the texture was bad.
