Reenactment will see the reunion of Benicio del Toro with his Reptile director Grant Singer. Singer will also write the screenplay of this forthcoming project. Cameron Diaz is also in the negotiation stage with the makers to star as the co-lead.

Benicio was recently seen in Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another with Leonardo DiCaprio. The film met with critical acclaim and has also become a box-office success. Both del Toro and Singer's earlier film Reptile was released on Netflix in 2023 and met with mostly positive reviews. Let us find out more details about their upcoming film that are available to the public.

Benicio del Toro to reunite with Grant Singer for Reenactment

Benicio del Toro will be starring in Reenactment, which is the upcoming film of Grant Singer. The two had earlier worked on the 2023 crime thriller flick Reptile. Singer is writing and directing this project, for which Cameron Diaz is also in talks to star as the co-lead.

As per reports, the film's production is expected to start sometime in the near future in Los Angeles. The makers have not revealed any details regarding the plot. It is being produced by Trent Luckinbill, Molly Smith, Thad Luckinbill, and Patrick Wachsberger. Rachel Smith, Bradley Thomas, Scott Greenberg, Ashley Stern, and Rick Yorn are executive producing the film. The production banners include Black Label, 193 (a part of Legendary Pictures), Imperative, and LBI.

If the negotiations go as planned, Reenactment will mark the first collaboration between del Toro and Diaz. Benicio's earlier film with Grant Singer was Reptile. The two had also written the screenplay of this film along with Benjamin Brewer. It had its world premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival, followed by a limited theatrical release on September 22 of the same year. It started streaming on Netflix on September 29, 2023.

In 2025, del Toro starred in One Battle After Another. Prior to that, he was seen in the espionage black comedy thriller The Phoenician Scheme. The film was co-written and directed by Wes Anderson and starred del Toro as Zsa-Zsa, who is a merciless business magnet. The film met with positive reviews.

Diaz, on the other hand, was last seen in the action comedy Back in Action. The film marked her return to the silver screen after nearly a decade. It was released on Netflix earlier this year. She will be next seen in Shrek 5.
