A former associate of Sean Diddy Combs revealed that many in the music industry were generally familiar with what went on at the more exclusive "after-after" parties he hosted. DJ Steph Lova, a radio personality from Baltimore’s Magic 95.9, who attended Howard University with Combs and saw his rise to fame, stated she did not know the alleged “freak-offs” or any illegal activities.

In an interview with NewsNation on September 23, 2024, Lova was asked about her reactions to Diddy’s arrest. She mentioned that the concept of "freak-offs" was entirely unfamiliar to her. While acknowledging that the hip-hop mogul was known for hosting parties, she emphasized that whatever happened afterward involved private, exclusive invitations.

“You had to be kind of with the sugar, honey, iced tea excuse me but you know, people know what goes on at the after-after party. It’s just a matter if you know you want to get down like that. This is the music business, I mean this is not for the weak,” DJ Steph Lova said.

Lova expressed her surprise at hearing the news of his arrest, adding that while she and Diddy remain on friendly terms, they hadn’t been in contact for a while. She found it hard to believe that he had been arrested, given his rise from humble beginnings, his role in launching several artists into stardom, and his extensive philanthropic efforts.

Lova hinted that many people could be worried about the possible evidence, mentioning that several individuals might appear in the recordings reportedly confiscated by authorities.

DJ Steph Lova said that the party vibe at Howard University started with Diddy

Lova mentioned that she and Diddy worked at New York City's Hot 97, one of the most prominent radio stations. She explained that she was familiar with him and had a well-established professional relationship, similar to the rapport he maintained with other radio hosts. While talking about the “freak-off” parties, she added:

“I mean the whole party vibe here at Howard University started when Diddy came to Howard University more or less. He brought Biggie, he brought Lil’ Kim, he brought Junior M.A.F.I.A. and that was the thing. So, all the stuff that happened after the actual party, those are private invites.”

Lova speculated that the recent resignations of several music industry executives could be linked to concerns about potential involvement in the situation. She suggested that individuals have reason to feel anxious and exercise caution.

Earlier in May this year, she told NewsNation that she had never witnessed any violent behavior from Diddy until the leaked video surfaced, showing him physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.

The rapper was arrested in Manhattan on federal charges, including racketeering, s*x trafficking, and prostitution. These criminal charges coincide with multiple civil lawsuits accusing him of s*xual abuse and other forms of misconduct. The arrest follows raids on his properties, where authorities reportedly uncovered evidence of drug-fueled s*x parties and weapons.
