On November 3, two days before the start of the 2024 U.S. Presidential election, Billie Eilish stopped her Atlanta concert midway to urge fans to vote for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. In a video shared by the Democratic Party on TikTok, Billie Eilish can be seen addressing the audience, saying,

"Times are really scary, and a lot is at stake. I know that if you are in this room and you support me, you support women, and I hope that you vote for Kamala Harris."

However, after the video went viral on social media and was reposted by Pop Crave on X, many users took to the comment section, expressing their disapproval of Billie, alleging that the singer is exploiting her fans' emotions, while others claimed that most of her concert-goers are minors not eligible to vote,

"She's literally making a speech about voting to thousands of 14 yr olds." - a user commented
"imagine paying money for a concert and then being told who to vote for…" - another user noted
"she’s a multimillionaire she doesn’t worry about this economy" - another user said
"There's no need to make your concert about politics even if your choice is the correct one. Seriously disgusting." - another user commented

"We are voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz" - say Finneas and Billie Eilish

Star siblings Finneas and Billie Eilish officially endorsed Kamala Harris for President in September on their social media profiles, saying,

"We are voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet and our democracy. We can't let extremists control our lives, our freedoms, and our futures. Vote like your life depends on it because it does."

While speaking to Vogue in a cover story published on October 8, Eilish said that a lot of her fans are going to be voting for the first time. Her take to encourage them to vote for Harris would be asking if "they like freedom," if Harris won, she would be the first female U.S. President. The singer also added,

"I would love to feel safe as a woman in my country."

Eilish is one of the many stars endorsing Kamala Harris ahead of election day. Other stars include Taylor Swift, Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, John Legend, Ariana Grande, Barbara Streisand, Carole King, Bon Iver, Pink, and others. Kanye West, Kid Rock, Jason Aldean, and Sexyy Red are backing opponent Donald Trump.
