Drake, 37, slid into Jennifer Lopez's, 55, DMs as soon as she filed for divorce from Ben Affleck in August, In Touch reported on Wednesday. The two have been getting cozy, calling, and texting each other. According to the insider,

"As soon as she filed the papers, Drake reached out. He was very sweet and told her what a fool Ben is for letting her get away, and then he quickly let her know he’s ready and willing to step in and satisfy her.”

The Canadian Hotline Bling rapper, whose romantic history is contentious in its own right, was first spotted with J-Lo in 2016 when photos of them sharing a romantic moment at a "Winter Wonderland" party got out.

The following year in February, Lopez- who has been married and divorced four times- divulged that they had been hanging out with each other, but left the more intimate details out.

Regardless, when the internet caught wind of it, everyone was ruthless. Many pointed out that both of them bring too much baggage to the table, while others contended that they may be right for each other precisely because of that. One user chimed in,

"I mean they’re both down bad this year…might as well trauma bond again romantically."

Several others had a lot to say as well:

"They deserve each other: two divas," one user claimed.
"Girl, go raise your children. Give it up!" another advised.
"Jlo has always been the problem…." yet another asserted.

"Two overly emotional people in relationship ⁉️ Can’t wait to watch‼️," another pointed out.

The internet was brutal, with many advising the singer to opt for therapy.

"She likes Rappers l see 👀," one user commented.
"Damn she really can’t stand being by herself," another user observed.
"The last time they did this “teenage fever” came out," someone else pointed out.

Everyone else ridiculed Drake for trying to get in cahoots with J-Lo.

Drake has been crushing on Jennifer Lopez for years, insider reveals

The insider further told In Touch that Jennifer Lopez was feeling seen following her divorce.

"They have their own history and a lot of chemistry, so it really did a lot to make her smile. Getting that kind of attention when she was feeling so low was exactly what she needed. Now they’re texting every day and things are getting hot.”

However, the Love Don't Cost a Thing singer has been keeping her "guards up," given that she's "well aware" of Drake's infamous playboy reputation.

This means she will “not be putting him in the relationship category” for a while. Regardless, the 17-year age difference is no hindrance for the latter:

"He’s very intelligent and romantic and she can count on him being discreet because he’s always kept her secrets in the past, It’s still in the s**ting stage but she loves hearing from him and sharing s*xy selfies, he’s very quick to compliment her.”

According to Cheat Sheet, Drake's moves were far from a spur-of-the-moment decision: the rapper has allegedly been interested in her for a long time. According to an insider, who claimed in July 2024,

"Jennifer’s always been one of Drake’s biggest crushes, and he says that what they shared all those years ago was incredible. He never pushed for more then, but everyone knows he would have loved to seriously date her.”

In October 2024, Lopez told Interview Magazine that she has no plans of settling down anytime soon, given that she wants to learn how to "be good on your own." She revealed that she "thought" she learned that, but she didn't, and so, she kept to herself this summer to "prove" to herself that she "can do that."

She continued, pointing out that she's “capable of joy and happiness” by herself, as “being in a relationship doesn’t define" her. She added that she needs to search for happiness within herself, and not "in other people."
