Marvel Zombies is the new phenomenon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but bigger things like Avengers: Doomsday await. While Anthony and Joe Russo have directed the film with a screenplay from Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely, Marvel Zombies' co-creator Bryan Andrews recently revealed that he has worked on the next Avengers film.
He told Brandon Davis during an interview that,
"I am just helping out on Doomsday with some of the actions. They always grab like their choice favorite board guys and we all jump in there and we all show. Kevin likes to call us 'it's the Avengers."
As of this writing, we still don't have a plot detail on the film, but it will be released on December 18, 2026, which was previously set for a release earlier this year.
Avengers: Doomsday has wrapped up filming

The latest update about the film came recently after the film wrapped up filming. Following that, there was a wrap party where we could see a hologram of Doctor Doom dancing on the floor. You can see the video below.
That will surely take some attention off the film for a bit.
As of this writing, multiple names, including Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Chris Hemsworth, and more, have been attached to the film, which was revealed in an hours-long announcement.
Before this, Robert Downey Jr. was confirmed to be playing the main antagonist, Doctor Doom, in Avengers: Doomsday. IGN's Kat Bailey called this "one of the most dramatic reveals in recent Marvel history."
He also teased a return to the sixth Avengers film, Secret Wars, which is set for a 2027 release. He posted himself reading comic books, including Secret Wars #1 by Jim Shooter and Iron Man: Legacy of Doom by Bob Layton and David Michelinie.
The latter issue has an interesting twist where Doctor Doom first teams up with Iron Man to save the world and then sells him to Mephisto. It would be interesting to see this happening in the upcoming MCU films, but it's hard to pull off, as RDJ's Iron Man was killed in Avengers: Doomsday.
However, we are in the Multiverse Saga already, so anything can happen. That said, this story could be fleshed out in a different universe. It could be a good backstory for the main protagonist in Avengers: Doomsday.
