Lady Gaga is the latest addition to the star-studded cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2, as the actor joins the likes of Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt for the highly anticipated sequel to the comedy drama.

The pop star was spotted in Milan amidst her sold out MAYHEM Ball tour, and as Vogue Italia reported, was in the city to shoot her scenes for the film. Milan serves as the backdrop to one of the most important scenes in the film, which is the fashion show for the fictional Runway magazine in the film. As the outlet further reported, Gaga is most likely playing herself, as initial rumors pointed to her appearing as a super guest in the front row.

The Paparazzi singer is no stranger to the screen, having previously worked on Machete Kills in 2013 and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For in 2014. Her most famous work on screen was as Ally Campana in The Star Is Born alongside Bradley Cooper, as the film received critical acclaim and won Gaga her first Academy Award for Best Original Song. She later worked in House of Gucci alongside Adam Driver and Al Pacino, and in Joker: Folie à Deux in 2024 alongside Joaquin Phoenix.

After two decades of moving at a glacial pace, Runway is finally back. David Frankel's The Devil Wears Prada 2 is officially under production, and the details are just as glamorous as the first film. Aline Brosh McKenna is once again penning the script, which will be based on Lauren Weisberger’s follow-up novel Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns.

Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Tracie Thoms, and Tibor Feldman are reprising their iconic roles, while Kenneth Branagh is joining the cast as Miranda Priestly’s new husband. The sequel also has some fresh faces, consisting of Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B. J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Rachel Bloom, Conrad Ricamora, Helen J. Shen, and Sydney Sweeney.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 started taking shape in June 2025, with cast sightings and updates coming in from outlets and the stars themselves. Anne Hathaway was seen stepping back into Andy Sachs’ designer heels, while Streep and Tucci shot scenes at Dolce & Gabbana’s Milan Fashion Week show in September. Though plot details remain secret, early reports suggest Miranda Priestly will be navigating a struggling magazine empire in the digital age while facing off against Emily Blunt's Emily Charlton, who is now a luxury brand executive with power of her own. The film is expected to shed light on the declining presence of traditional magazines, while highlighting the careers of the three women who made us fall in love with fashion in the first film!

The Devil Wears Prada 2 will be in theaters on May 1, 2026.
