In April, Katelynn Ordone and her family were involved in a vehicular crash that claimed the life of her son Preston Ordone, aka Okay Baby.
Three weeks after the accident, the TikTok star shared details in her recent Instagram post while alerting her followers against misinformation. In a statement posted via her official handle, Kate revealed that she and her husband, Jaelen, suffered “severe concussions” after the St. Tammany Parish crash. She talked about having no recollection of the accident,
“For those of you who don't know, my husband and I suffered severe concussions and have no memory of the accident.”
Katelynn Ordone stated that she and her husband hired “an independent accident reconstruction expert” to help them “thoroughly review” what transpired. The couple has expressed their intent to share the “most accurate information” they have currently. The TikToker added,
“According to the vehicle's black box data, the vehicle was traveling at 70 mph before decelerating and making a right turn, impacting at approximately 60 mph. Preston was properly secured in a two-piece, 360-degree car seat positioned behind the passenger seat.”
The statement continues,
“Preston remained fully restrained in his car seat throughout the incident. He was removed from the vehicle still securely fastened and brought to the side of the road by bystanders- this occurred before any emergency personnel arrived at the scene.”
Kate cited witnesses and claimed that the first responders took about 15 minutes to reach the crash site. Meanwhile, Preston Ordone remained “fully secured” and was handed over to the first responders.
Katelynn Ordone mentioned a “car seat issue” three weeks after her son Preston Ordone, aka Okay Baby, died in a crash
In a recent Instagram post, the social media star shared the “most accurate information” her family has collected after the St. Tammany Parish accident. Katelynn Ordone mentioned that her son Preston Ordone, aka Okay Baby, was fully secured in a “360-degree car seat.” She also pointed out an issue that they discovered after the accident. According to Kate’s recent Instagram post,
“There appears to have been an issue with how the seat attached to the base: the locking pins were stuck in the engaged position, which may have prevented the seat from fully securing to the base.”
Katelynn Ordone asserted that they researched the specific car seat and found that many have reported a similar issue that seemingly “prevented the seat from fully securing to the base.” She further mentions the crash,
“As for the cause of the accident, it is currently believed to have been the result of a medical emergency, which is consistent with the vehicle's deceleration and steering behavior.”
Kate concluded the post by thanking her followers for “continued prayers.” She added,
“We can't imagine walking through this without the assurance of eternal life and the peace that comes from knowing the truth.”
After the single-vehicle crash, the Louisiana State Police stated in a press release about the death of Preston Ordone, aka Okay Baby. The official statement mentioned that the two-year-old was sitting in the rear. It also noted that Preston was “improperly restrained in a child safety seat” and suffered fatal injuries.
The toddler's family previously refuted the authorities' claim about the crash and Ordone's death. According to WWL-TV (channel 4), Preston Ordone's grandfather, Glen Norris, disputed the report, asserting that his grandchild was properly restrained in a car seat.
Per the LA State Police, the accident happened on April 24 on Interstate 12, west of the Louisiana Highway 59 exit in St. Tammany Parish. Katelynn, Jaelen, and Preston Ordone were in a 2011 Ford F-150. The couple’s daughter Paisley was in school at the time of the accident, and their family friends and fellow TikTok stars Brielle and Carson Matranga shared in a video.
