In an X video posted on April 9, actor Terrence Howard defended his controversial math theories, after he said he had 'proof' that "one time one equals two." In the video, Howard said:
"Listen, before y'all talk about me, y'all need to talk to me. You see, once upon a time, if a man questioned another man's honor, he didn't do it from the shadows. He had to do it out in the open, with his name and his chest out, and his chin high."
He added:
Not hiding behind a keyboard, or tucked behind editing clips of fair-use disclaimers. You see, citing section 107 of the copyright act does not give you free rein to defame, misinterpret, or harm another's reputation. Fair use is not a shielf for character assassination."
Elsewhere in the video, while responding to the backlash on his math skills, Terrence Howard in his recent social media post, asked critics to respectfully come up with their own equations or conclusions, and reminded people of the consequences, saying:
"Otherwise it'll end in a duel, and I mean a real life duel where only one person walks away. We can meet with guns, bottles, knives, or books and equations. We're gonna do this like men. So, get ready."
This comes after the actor, during an interview with Rolling Stone in 2015, mentioned that while he was studying chemical engineering at New York's Pratt Institute, he had a disagreement with a professor over his math claim that 1x1 = 2.
In the interview, the Empire actor, questioned the logic and said:
"How can it equal one? If one times one equals one that means that two is of no value because one times itself has no effect. One times one equals two because the square root of four is two, so what's the square root of two? Should be one, but we're told it's two, and that cannot be."
The actor then went on to note that he dropped out from school due to the agreement.
More about Terrence Howard's Terrylogy
Despite playing the lead role in the Fox show Empire, and delivering Marvel Cinematic Universe's popular dialogue "Next Time, Baby" in Iron Man, actor Terrence Howard has become a center of controversy owing to his math theories.
The actor had previously mentioned that he had dropped out of New York's Pratt Institute for arguing with a professor and claiming that 1x1=2.
Terrence Howard then went on to create his own math language called Terrylogy, and took to X in 2017 to post mathematical proof to defend his theory of 1x1=2.
