Puerto Rican star Marc Anthony endorsed Kamala Harris in the US Presidential election in a new video one day after Tony Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico a "floating island of garbage" at Trump's Madison rally.

In the video, March can be heard saying,

"I'm here to tell you that even though some have forgotten...I remember. I remember what it was like when Trump was president. I remember what he did and said, about Puerto Rico. About our people...I remember after Hurricane Marie devastated our island...Trump blocked billions in relief...while thousands died."

Kamala Harris, in another video, reminded people of Donald Trump's treatment of Puerto Ricans. In the video, she can be heard saying,

"I will never forget what Donald Trump did and he did not do when Puerto Rico needed a caring and competant leader. He abandoned the island, tried to block aid after back-to-back devastating hurricanes and offered nothing more than paper towels and insults."

When Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico in September 2017, Trump's presidency was criticized for slow federal response. As per Politifact, Trump was reluctant to aid the Latin American island.

The former president also criticized Puerto Rican leaders like Ricardo Rosello and San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz, accusing them of corruption and mismanagement.

He'll separate children from their families" - says Marc Anthony about Donald Trump's stance on Puerto Rico

While recalling Donald Trump's presidency, Marc Anthony also said that Trump launched his campaign by calling Latin Americans "criminals" and "r*pists."

"He told us what he'll do. He'll separate children from their families and threatened to use the ARMY to do it."

Marc Anthony added that the election goes way beyond political parties, urged people to remember what the United States represents and stands for, and said that he supports Kamala Harris for president.

After Tony Hinchcliffe's controversial comments on Puerto Rico, many other Latin American stars have endorsed Harris while bashing Trump. Ricky Martin shared a video of Harris' appeal to Puerto Rican voters along with a clip of Hinchcliffe's remarks with the caption:

"This is what they think of us. Vote for @kamalaharris."

Another Puerto Rican star, Bad Bunny, reshared Kamala Harris' clip several times, along with Despacito singer Luis Fonsi and Jennifer Lopez, whose parents are Puerto Rican.

After getting backlash from both Democrats and Republicans, Hinchcliffe accused Democrats of having "no sense of humor" and said that Democrats have "taken (the joke) out of context to make it seem racist."
