How to Train Your Dragon will be released on Peacock on October 10, 2025. This will enable several viewers to finally watch the film digitally who might have missed it on the big screen. The streamer will also release the original animated film trilogy on October 1st.
The film is a remake of the animated film, which itself was inspired by Cressida Cowell's namesake children's book series. On April 2, 2025, the film had its world premiere at CinemaCon. This was followed by a theatrical release on June 13 and met with positive critical response. Made on a budget of $150 million, the film grossed $633.1 million at the box office. It achieved both critical acclaim and commercial success, paving the way for two sequels: How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014) and How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (2019).
