Tom Hanks, 68, says 35 is the "hardest" age to be at and that he's in a "better shape now."

The actor plays a range of ages in his new film Here, with deaging technology. While discussing the movie with Entertainment Tonight, Hanks was asked if there's any specific age he played that he'd want to experience again to which he replied saying,

"No. Look, I'm 68 years old, the hardest for us was when we were playing 35. That time where your metabolism stops, gravity starts tearing you down, your bones start wearing off, you stand differently, I think I'm in better shape now."

When ET responded to him saying that he looks "great", the actor explained the reason behind his fitness,

"You know why? Because my kids are grown up, I'm getting decent exercise, and I can eat right. You can't do that when you're 35. Life is such a burden!"

Forest Gump co-stars Tom Hanks and Robin Wright reunite for Here, an adaptation on Richard McGuire's graphic novel. The story captures various moments of Hanks and Wright as a couple in a wide array of ages, while navigating their home life.

During the red carpet of the movie's world premiere at AFI Fest in Los Angeles on October 25, Tom, while speaking to People Magazine said, "It's good to look young again."

Hanks called the de-aging process for the movie "kooky" since they made it happen with "super fast-filter computer without using makeup", and that they didnt't have to wait for the post-production process to see the younger versions of themselves.

However, the actor also said that while it was "great" to see himself de-aged, he is much more comfortable at 68.

"Look, I'm 68. The much more difficult part that was both physical and spiritually emotionally is when Richard and Margaret are 35 and 42 - when the aging process just begins to kick in and you no longer are able to spring up off a couch. And you're not yet to a place where life slows down completely."

When it comes to playing different ages, Tom Hanks said, "I'd rather be as old as I am."

The movie will be released in theaters in the United States by TriStar pictures through Sony Pictures on November 1, 2024.

Amazon MGM Studios will handle the film's release in United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and German-speaking countries in Europe, whereas Eagle Pictures will take up the film's release in Italy.
