On the May 15, 2025, episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Brown reflected on her reward, expressing,

Mel B's marriages explored

Melanie tied the knot thrice; first to Jimmy Gulzar, then Stephen Belafonte, and later to Rory McPhee.
Here's everything we know about her marriages.
Jimmy Gulzar
Mel B married her first husband on 13 September 1998. They first met during the Spice Girls' world tour and were married from 1998 to 2000. In February 1999, the estranged couple welcomed their daughter Phoenix Chi. Their marriage ended amid public conflict and personal challenges. Disputes over money and financial settlement made headlines, too.
Born on February 18, 1975, in the Netherlands, according to Famous Birthdays, he is a Dutch dancer. He rose to fame after his relationship with Mel. Gulzar was one of the backup dancers at the 1998 Spice World tour. Interestingly, he proposed to the musician in less than two months after their first interaction, the outlet reported.
According to an April 2017 TMZ report, Jimmy Gulzar accused Brown of making extra efforts not to allow their daughter to visit or meet him. He also claimed that she gave an ultimatum to their kid.
Stephen Belafonte
In June 2007, Mel B secretly married film producer Stephen Belafonte in Las Vegas, after dating for around five months.
In a February 2008 interview with Sunday Telegraph‘s Stella magazine, as People reported, she detailed her second marriage, stating,
"I was over any kind of relationship. Having been through what I had."
Later in November 2008, they renewed their vows in Egypt. They had their first Madison Brown Belafonte in September 2011.
A few years later, they faced a stormy period in their relationship. Around a decade later, the duo called it quits, and Mel B filed for divorce in March 2017, citing irreconcilable differences and other reasons, according to People.
During the legal battles, Mel B requested joint legal and physical custody of their kid. The outlet also confirmed that the court asked her to pay a monthly amount of $40,000 in temporary spousal support. She was also ordered to pay $140,000 in attorney fees and forensic fees for Stephen.
Amid the then-ongoing proceedings, new information was revealed in October. According to the Independent, Belafonte's attorney, Philip Cohen, told in Los Angeles Superior Court,
"Miss Brown now takes the position she was drugged by Mr. Belafonte throughout the course of the marriage."
After a long procedure, Brown and Belafonte finalized their divorce in December 2017. According to the court documents obtained by TMZ, as People cited, Stephen was set to receive $5,000 every month for child support. Also, he received a monthly amount of $15,000 in spousal support.
Sharing an Instagram video about his divorce, Belafonte expressed,
"Getting out of my horrific, disastrous divorce court right now. Once again, all allegations dismissed. I went through a long year-and-a-half, two years of almost being asked to give up the rights to my daughter, financial things. And you know what? I stuck with it. There was nothing but lies told about me … That means, that guess what? It’s settled, done."
Belafonte concluded, stating,
"Just keep persevering. People will lie on you, people will leave you. Things will crash down on your life, but you know what? At the end of the day, you just got to believe in the truth and when all that happens, boom! Just like today baby."
Rory McPhee
This year, on July 5, Mel B married Rory McPhee. They got engaged on a trip to Berkshire in 2022.
Looking back at her engagement in October 2022, Brown confessed in Celebrity Gogglebox, explaining,
"He said, 'I love you, you're my best friend and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. There were rose petals everywhere, a log fire, a hotel — which was Cliveden. It was very romantic. I love flowers."
In a 2024 exclusive conversation with People, Mel confessed she was unsure of getting married again. She elaborated,
"I was like, ‘I'm never going to get married again. Never, never, never. I'm never having a relationship. I'm fine by myself. I want to raise my kids, put my head down and work, and that's it. And then… never can say never, can you?"
She also reiterated that she firmly believes in love, and her previous marriages weren't about love from their angle at all. She said,
"I believe in love, and clearly the other two marriages turned out to be not love, from their angle. So I feel like I've really missed out, and now I've got this opportunity to be properly in love with a really good guy who I know loves me for me, who's known me before I was a Spice Girl, why wouldn't I do that?"
