Page Six has reported that Sex/Life costars Sarah Shahi and Adam Demos have split.

Per the outlet, the pair, who met on the set of the Netflix series in 2020, began dating shortly after. By 2024, rumors were swirling that they were engaged. However, sources told the outlet that Shahi, known for her roles in Life and Red White and Royal Blue, broke up with Demos.

Sarah Shahi was previously married to Shameless star Steve Howey from 2009 to 2020. The estranged couple, who met on the set of Reba, welcomed three kids during this time: William, 15, and twins Violet and Knox, 10. Shahi filed for divorce after 11 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.

According to Extra TV, back in 2022, Adam Demos and Sarah Shahi were rumored to be engaged when the former was spotted wearing a band on his ring finger when he stepped out with the actress in Wollongong, Australia. However, at the time, Shahi concealed most of her hands with her sleeves, making it hard to distinguish if she was sporting a wedding ring as well.

Shahi previously told People magazine that when she met Demos on set, she thought he was “a tall glass of water.”

“We had the exact same taste in music,” she said. “We had the same taste in whiskey and tequilas and I was really blown away by him just as a person and all I knew was that I wanted more.”

The show ran for two seasons, with Sarah Shahi starring as Billie Connelley, a “stay-at-home wife and mother living in the suburbs" who used to be "a free-spirited wild child living in New York City” according to the show’s synopsis. However, Shahi told People that the show was more than just that, it was a "very personal journey" for her.

"There are many ways in which Billie and I were oddly similar, and even just the timing of my own personal divorce when I was doing the show," the Red, White & Royal Blue star explained. “I'm a single mother. I'm having to co-parent. I'm divorced. I'm also in a new relationship. So yeah, there's a lot of ways in which I definitely have a Billie inside of me.”

Back in April 2023, Sarah Shahi reflected on her past marriage with Howey and why it culminated in a divorce when she sat down for an episode on the Not Skinny but Not Fat podcast:

"I was just questioning everything. As a wife and as a mom, you get told, 'Well, but you have it good. You have it good,'" she said at the time. "I just felt so unseen. … [Sex/Life] gave me the courage to say, 'I'm not happy. And I feel like we should as individuals have the right to be happy.'"

She further divulged how having kids took a toll on their marriage:

"From the time that our first child was born, our relationship suffered and it was hard to get back on track," she said. "We were together for a very long time. We were together for 18 years. That's not a failure. That was a long time. But the last 10 years we really did struggle."

Sarah Shahi added:

"Any flaws you have in the relationship before you have kids, if you don't settle those things — that was my experience of, 'It gets worse,'" she continued. "It only gets worse. You have less time for each other, you have less patience, you have less desire because you're just so damn tired."

Elsewhere in the segment, she also shared what she liked most about Demos, noting that they instantly clicked as friends and costars before things took a romantic turn:

"I also really respected how he talked about his mom and how he talked about women," she shared. "There was just so much that I started seeing over time that made me go, 'Oh, you're kind of everything I've ever wanted.' And that's when we started being together."
