There seems to be a new development in the legal battle between Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers. According to People Magazine, on November 7, a judge ordered a five-year restraining order against Phypers which will last till November 2030. As per the conditions of the order, Phypers cannot show any signs of disturbing behavior towards Denise.

On July 16, Denise Richards got a temporary restraining order but Phypers allegedly violated that. Meanwhile, the list of don’ts in the new order includes not letting her be at peace, buy weapons, show abusive behavior towards her, etc.

However, in case the estranged couple must contact each other, Denise can keep records of the same. Additionally, Phypers has to give back Denise’s laptop. He is also banned from posting anything about her on social media. Other videos of her like the ones from Denise Richards’s surgery have to be sent back and also erased from his devices.

Richards has previously accused Aaron Phypers of being violent to an extent that it almost became fatal. During one of her testimonies, she said:

“He’s almost killed me so many damn times.”

Some time in early 2022, Phypers allegedly pushed her against a wall and she ended up hurting her head. However, Aaron Phypers denied the claims, saying they were fabricated. He also said that people liked to be close to celebrities and would do anything for that. He mentioned:

“I never physically harmed Denise Richards… I never threatened to harm her… I did not threaten to kill anybody.”

Aaron Phypers speaks about the new restraining order and watching Denise Richards take the stand

After the five-year restraining order was granted, Entertainment Tonight tried to contact Denise Richards. As Denise walked past, the reporter asked how she was doing but the actress did not respond. However, when Aaron Phypers was asked about his reaction to the order, he said:

“I was surprised quite frankly and wish it was the other way. So, there you go.”

The reporter then asked about his next step in the legal battle and Phypers said:

“Right now, go home, take a break. You know, put my feet up and then just get ready for the next show.”

When asked if he was worried about how the spousal support arrangement could be affected, Aaron Phypers replied negatively, saying he “got the truth.” Mentioning the divorce proceedings, the reporter asked him whether he thought that could be settled outside court. Phypers’ attorney Michael Finley said:

“It’s possible. There’s no children involved. There's no house to sell. There’s just assets to divide. We will find out because a settlement requires both sides be reasonable.”

In October 2025, Entertainment Tonight spoke to Aaron Phypers who was asked how difficult it was for him to watch Denise Richards become emotional on the stand. He said that although it was “super tough” for him, he tried not to make eye contact. He said it was difficult for him to hear stories that weren’t true. At the time, his attorney said that Richards was trying to destroy his client.
