In the latest development, Cheryl Cole has been named the administrator of the Strip That Down singer's $32.2 million estate after it was found that, at the time of his passing, the singer had created no will.

Cheryl Cole and Liam Payne officially started dating in 2016 per People, though they had met earlier in 2008 when Payne auditioned as a contestant on the British reality TV show, X Factor, where Cole was judge. Payne, who was just 14, made it all the way to the Judges' House round but was eventually eliminated. Two years later, he would return to the show and would become part of the group that became One Direction.

In a 2017 interview with The Sun, the Drag Me Down singer reminisced about the moment he met Cheryl as a teenager in 2008. He said:

In 2022, during Liam Payne's appearance on the Impaulsive Podcast, hosted by Logan Paul, the Bedroom Floor singer talked about their relationship post their break up, adding that he was thankful to co-parent with Cheryl. He said:
