Recently, Catherine Paiz announced the pre-sale of her new book, DOLORES: My Journey Home—Part One. The internet personality posted on Instagram that the memoir was “the most vulnerable thing” she had ever done.
While the paperback, hardcover, audiobook, and translations are set for a release on July 1, @FearedBuck shared an excerpt on X. According to the post, Catherine Paiz reflected on her ex-husband’s unfaithfulness.
She was married to Austin McBroom for seven years. Together, they produced family vlogging content on YouTube, before ultimately separating in 2024. Sharing about being cheated on, the influencer wrote in her book,
“I found out Austin had been cheating on me. Not a suspicion. Not a rumor. Proof.”
She added,
“I realized then why he hadn't wanted to walk beside me, why it had been so easy for him not to. He'd already broken his vows. He'd already gone from me longer than I had known.”
The author recounted how a “close family member” told her about Austin inviting a girl to the Staples Center event. It was the same event where, according to Catherine, her former husband seemingly distanced himself from her. She wrote,
“Now, I knew. It all made sense: the way he hadn't wanted me next to him, the shrug. The indifference. The way he treated me that night, as if I were a thorn in his side.”
Catherine Paiz further proclaimed,
“It wasn't just the betrayal. It was the realization that I had been living inside a lie.”
Catherine revealed that she was pregnant with her third child when she found out about Austin’s infidelity. The author said she didn't tell her parents or brother about it and instead “carried it alone.”
Catherine Paiz and Austin McBroom announced their split in January 2024
As mentioned, The Ace Family co-creators were married for seven years and had three kids. Their YouTube channel garnered more than 18.1M subscribers, but the couple stopped uploading new videos in June 2023.
Amidst the speculations, Austin McBroom and Catherine Paiz uploaded separate posts on Instagram announcing their amicable split, adding that they will continue co-parenting the kids. Catherine wrote in her currently deleted post,
“As I start this new year, I will challenge myself in ways that I have never done before. 2024 will be my year of transformative change and with this taking place, one of the steps in my journey is the difficult decision to leave my marriage.”
She added,
“We have mutually agreed to a divorce and will part amicably. Our paths as a couple have shifted and has created challenges that are irreconcilable.”
At the same time, Austin McBroom also shared,
“We have mutually agreed to a divorce but will remain a team when it comes to our kids. We created one of the greatest stories, almost a decade together, so many memories, so many accomplishments but every book comes to end. And now we will be writing a new book as separate authors.”
Catherine didn’t mention anything about Austin’s infidelity, but an allegation was made by Tana Mongeau, Jake Paul's ex, in 2021. The internet influencer called out The Ace Family YouTuber, accusing him of cheating on his then-wife. McBroom replied under her X post and denied the accusations, but four years later, Catherine Paiz mentioned the cheating, albeit a separate instance, in her new book.
After parting ways with her husband, the mother of three announced her new date in November of last year via an Instagram post. Besides a picture with her current boyfriend, Catherine has largely kept her personal life private.
