Pop icon Beyonce extended support to Presidential candidate Kamala Harris during a rally in her home state of Texas on October 25, 2024. Appearing alongside Kelly Rowland, the American singer endorsed the Harris and Walz, just 11 days before the election. Donald Trump responded to this endorsement during his Michigan rally on the same day, saying:
“Joe Biden is asleep. Kamala is at a dance party with Beyonce.”
His statement has drawn reactions from a lot of social media users. One X user wrote:
“He’s so jealous because the biggest star he can pull is Kid Rock.”
Netizens criticised Donald Trump’s statement saying that he is triggered by everything Kamala Harris does:
“Trump is the GOAT! Kamala needs celebrity Diddy people to attract a crowd that will boo her. People flock to Trump rallies to see Trump!” a person commented on X.
“Any man who attacks a woman is a weak man. Trump is a weak pathetic grumpy grandpa,” a netizen wrote.
“Drumpf is triggered by everything Kamala does. Why is he pronouncing her name Beyance? He is so puerile,” a social media user mentioned.
Other online users claimed that Trump hated black people, especially black women while X users hinted at his tension with famous personalities:
“In case it wasn’t obvious, Trump, like the rest of MAGA, HATES Black people and they HATE women! But they REALLY REALLY DESPISE Black Women!” an online user pointed out.
“I’m still stuck on “Joe Biden is asleep” when he just fell asleep at a round table ON voters,” another person reacted.
“Trump's criticism of Beyonceofor attending an event with VP Harris reveals his ongoing tension with influential figures in pop culture,” another social media user pointed out.
Beyonce said Kamala Harris has been pushing for the country’s vital need for ‘unity’
Addressing an enthusiastic crowd of 30,000 at Houston’s open-air Shell Energy Stadium, Beyonce expressed a call for collective action. She started her speech by saying she was proud to stand on stage as a proud country Texas woman. While speaking about Kamala Harris, she said:
“A woman who has been pushing for what this country really needs right now, unity. It’s impossible not to feel the energy in this room, the positivity, the community, the humanity. We are at the precipice of an incredible shift, the brink of history.”
Beyonce continued:
“I am not here as a celebrity. I am not here as a politician. I am here is a mother. A mother who cares deeply about the world, my children and all of our children live in. A world where we have freedom to control our bodies. A world where we are not divided.”
Beyonce encouraged the audience to envision a future where daughters grow up without limitations, inspired by the achievements of those before them. She acknowledged the sacrifices of past generations, including grandmothers who have witnessed monumental change and those who could not see this historic moment.
She emphasized that each person’s voice carries weight and significance, highlighting the immense value of voting as a crucial tool for change. Vice President Kamala Harris joined the rally, urging voters to support abortion rights ahead of Election Day, asserting that momentum was on their side.
Acknowledging that some Texas voters might question the impact of their votes, Harris reassured them of its importance. She concluded her speech with a biblical reference, affirming that brighter days lay ahead despite challenges.
