Film producer Harvey Weinstein was interviewed by author Candace Owens. The full episode of the conversation can be accessed from the Club Candace website with a paid subscription. However, as seen in the clip posted by TMZ, Weinstein made several statements about his incarceration, saying:
“I did not commit these crimes. I swear that before God and the people watching now and on my family. The people who support me are scared talk. They are frightened to death that they are going to be canceled.”
Harvey Weinstein went on:
“It’s a complete fabrication about my relationship with Gwyneth. I didn’t put my hand on her. I didn’t touch her. I definitely made a pass. Ashley Judd’s claims are ridiculous. I settled with Rose McGowan. I gave her a $100,000. Don’t tell my wife. Don’t get me in trouble. It’s all conflated and it’s all led to the idea that I am going to be the one they persecute.”
As seen in the clip, Harvey Weinstein said he felt completely broken by what had happened. He requested a lie detector test to be brought into the prison because he wanted to prove his side of the story to the public.
According to TMZ, Gwyneth Paltrow claimed she was s*xually harassed by Weinstein on film sets. During the interview with Candace Owens, he also claimed:
“I hurt my family. I hurt my friends. I cheated on my wife. And that was a mistake, you know, a terrible mistake.”
What more did Harvey Weinstein say about Gwyneth Paltrow and Candace Owens?
As per Variety, Harvey Weinstein said that the cheating happened because of the stress he was under at work. He admitted he hadn’t been a good boss. He was demanding, had a bad temper, and didn’t handle things the way he should have.
Addressing the situation about Gwyneth Paltrow, he said she believed their relationship had been abusive, but claimed that those who were around at the time saw that it was nothing more than a friendship.
He pointed to moments like her visiting him in the hospital in 1999 when he was ill, and how she mentioned him during her Golden Globes and Academy Awards speeches without being prompted, as signs that they had remained on good terms. Reflecting on his time in prison, Harvey Weinstein told Candace Owens:
“I have friends who are still in the industry who slip me their screenplays and ask me for notes. You know, can I do something for it? Can I help? Can I improve it? And I just give them my honest thoughts. So I’m not doing anything for me, but I’m doing things for others.”
Speaking to Page Six in March 2025, Harvey Weinstein said that although he strongly disagreed with Candace Owens’ views, he recognized her determination and persistence.
She initially reached out through a mutual friend and later contacted him directly. He told her he supported the Anti-Defamation League and that she wasn't someone he typically aligned with.
Despite trying to convince her not to defend him publicly, he admitted being impressed by her drive, saying she could become a major public figure, especially with the investigative work she did on her podcast.
