GTA 6 fans speculate that there could be two islands in the maps of the new game.

According to fan theories, there could be two different islands on the map, as evidenced by a frame in the new GTA 6 trailer. A release date for the eagerly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 has finally been announced, although it has been pushed back to May 26, 2026. However, the recently released trailer is what is currently generating excitement and keeping fans enthused.

The game is a fictional version of Florida, but there has been some inspiration taken from real-life landmarks and locations. The new 2-minute and 46-second trailer features a lot of different details about the main story and characters.

The map is based in Vice City, Leonida, which is based on Miami, Florida. In a postcard spotted in one of the frames of the trailer, you can see two separate islands in the state of Leonida, making fans think it is more explorable.

Fans speculate about GTA 6 maps

Fans are speculating on a few different theories regarding the game. While some are busy analysing the frames, others are criticising fans for spending so much time analysing a game.

"This has gotten sad at this point. Going screen by screen in a trailer is possibly the saddest existence I’ve heard of yet." one user stated.
To which another replied, "Gamers have done this for years. I wouldn't be too judgemental on what is sad based on your clear obsession.."
Another theorised, "They put stickers to hide the details. But it's definitely two islands."
One person also speculated, "That would be awesome. After the dissapointment of the release delay they really got people back on board with these trailers and media"
While one fan commented, "Weren't there rumours that GTA 6's map will be double the size of Red Dead 2?"
"GTA fans after spotting a blurry palm tree reflection: “Confirmed. Dual-island, 400-hour storyline, 5-star submarine chases. We're back.” one user joked.

Talking about real-life inspired locations, the main metropolis of the game is a version of Downtown Miami, while the Kaseya Center, the home of the Miami Heat basketball team, has been rebranded to Sahara Arena. The real E11EVEN nightclub has been changed to NINE 1 NINE, where Lucia was seen dancing. Some other places that have been spotted are the game's own versions of Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, Rain Barrel Village, Venetian Causeway, and more.
